Game 35 - Nets @ Hawks - Wednesday, January 6, 7:00

After a strong start to the season, the Hawks are having a hard time, having lost four straight and six of their last eight, including a blowout at the hands of the Heat on Monday. But the Nets are often the tonic teams need when they're in a funk. Still, coach Mike Woodson said, "We have to do some soul searching and get ready for the Nets." Chris Quinn, the newest Net, should be joining the team in Atlanta.

We have too much talent on this team to only have 3 wins. We need a game where:
Lopez: 20 points 10 reb
Harris 18 points 8 assists
CDR: 17 points 5 reb 5 ast
Lee 13 points
Yi 18 points 8 reb
And the bench should be good enough for around 15-25 points

I don’t think they will score a 130 points like they did last time… well.. never mind.

LOOOOOOOOSE,always like that. How can it happed all the time? I can see nothing regarding positive info, except Yi…who is the guy based by everybody, pretty ridiculous!!
Can our guards play defence? Can our guards see our big guys? what is going on the damned court??
Let’s say that again, come on, do defence. Give more supports to Yi and BL.

Maybe Chris Quinn can hit some shots and be the savior. Doubtful. Blowout tonight me thinks…

Roy Hibbert had 26, 8 and 4 blocks against Howard and the Magic. Just saying.

This is going to be a blowout.

Tonight’s NetsDaily blog headline: Nets Crushed by Hawks.

It’s OK NBA teams on a downturn, we are your one stop shop for turnaround. But then again, maybe we don’t have 10 turn overs and can make this game competitive until the 4th,

This is from my observation, I think harris should not taking as many shots as Lopez, Yi. He should focus more on defense and trying to pass the ball. Almost every point guard is either outscoring him or have a better shooting percentage when they face Harris. His 18 points is more like boxscore. Kiki needs to tell him this.

Also I think Yi should not be running on to cover shooters, he needs to be inside and helping out on rebounds. I have no idea why our small forwards are so horrible.

If last year we had took Landry instead of Lee in the VC trade, we would be a much better team.

Complete loss. I bet VC is rolling on the floor laufghin at us for the mediocre trade we just did! gave up our best player away for trash.

VC might be over 30 years old, scoring 20 ppg, and stuffs like that! But cmon, the man had talent and proven leadership….

i hope the Magics to reach the finals and BEAT L.A

P.S Vote 4 Vinsanity to go to the all-star game!!!

Better watch that game because it will be a surprising win !!!
I really “beleedat” like my man CDR would say.

I just got that little extra feeling tonight….and Kiki: Better play SWat to improve the inside D against Horford and J-Smooth.

So far no movement, I was convinced that Najera would not be a Net by now. NetIncome or NetsDaily any info on who’s suiting up tonight and who’s not? Hopefully we’ll see a blurb that Najera didn’t make the trip due to “personal issues”

by Hab on Jan 6, 2010 3:15 PM EST reply actions

Yea Gyniko, I’m with you. This Hawks team is overrated and I think we actually match up fairly well against them. If Devin Harris doesn’t show me something, anything at all tonight I’m damn near done with him.

I dont even care if Chris Quinn starts at point guard, as long as he can make a shot Im happy. The one of the (many) frustrating things about the Nets is that they keep taking horrible shots and missing alot of wide open looks.

The gaurds on this team are selfish and don’t want to see the game run through Brook and Yi. When that changes the team will get better.

Devin Harris’ assist to turnover ration has to improve if he ever plans to become an elite PG in this league. It is a thing of disgust right about now!

I am amazed at how we still think this team is talented. This year has been a year of humility. We have been beated down into facing reality: we are not that good. We are what our record says we are, to quote a famous guy who coached in Jersey. As good as Lopez appears to be, he is still raw defensively and costs us a great deal inside on many nights. Yi is even worse defensively, but most people accept that. CDR and D, well, to be fair, he has been getting after it a bit, but really, he is beaten left and right. And the offense is not much better: it is mostly individual play out there. CDR and Yi thrive in this environment, but if you put in a more structured pick and roll or motion team, CDR and Yi would struggle, while Lopez will and others may thrive. I don’t see talent. Not one of our 5 starters would start on the Celtics. 2- 3 would be in the rotation. Face it. We are this bad.

@Yao – relax, and enjoy the bumpy ride.

I actually think the Nets are doing ok, considering their circumstances this year. Besides, they are in a great position for next year. No way we are getting to the playoffs, so I am just hoping they work out some of their problems for the guys who will actually be here next season.

At this point it’s about management and money, not wins and losses.

anyone else have Time warner cable and the yes network is out?

by austin on Jan 6, 2010 7:14 PM EST reply actions

@ Yao

I might get killed for pointing this out, but our D was good before the coaching change. People need to want to play D… although Yi may just not be capable…. hopefully a yet follows that.
