Game 46 - 76ers @ Nets - Sunday, January 31, 6:00

As Meat Loaf often said, two out of three ain't bad. After a heart breaking loss Friday, the Nets take on another bad team in an early start at the IZOD Sunday. The 76ers have their own brand of turmoil, with trade winds gusting like winter snow and coaches' seats heating up like fireplaces. Not to mention Allen Iverson's arrival limiting touches for Andre Iguodala. Devin Harris is doubtful.

I sniff a win. We always seem to play well against the 76ers.

Two terrible teams in the worst arena in the NBA, no thanks.

every time the nets win they begin to get competitive and then have to face a quality team.
In this case, they dont. They will competitive and i sense a close, low scoring game.
Nets win:
89 to 84

Maybe Kiki finally has realized that this is not the group to play Nelly-like ball with and this game will actually be winnable.

At least we haven’t been seeing any LFrank small ball lineups

How about Devin Harris for Andre Igoudala in a trade. Not bad for either team.

NETS – 102 / 76er’s – 96…….Nets have picked up their play as of late and I feel that they really want to win this one to show everyone that they are back….

Im tired of freakin ESPN and NBA TV being idiots and calling th nets so bad. they think theyre really funny and what not, o maybe the nets can make a chase for the 8 spot, its annoying! we should have the worst record in the league to get wall in the draft, but be competitive and not break the loss record.

Anyone notice the better defense we are playing without harris on the court? I hope he is taking notice and changes his focus when he comes back.
We will be murdered on the boards and lose this game.

I’ll be checking the Nets score every half hour or so on my PDA while at the Devils game in Newark tonight.

This game against the 76’s is disgusting! CDR sits dam near the whole 1st. quarter after he gets 3points 2 assist & rebounds! This is a blatant slap in the face! This is true bs, I truly believe that the Nets want 2 loose!

Kiki, why do you keep going to Courtney Lee when he’s 1 for 5?
by Antoine on Jan 31, 2010 7:08 PM EST reply actions
CDR was taken out with 3:43 mins left in the first quarter and DID NOT PLAY IN THE SECOND HALF AT ALL!!! CDR had a 3-pointer, 1 block, 1 reb and 1 ast (Brook’s dunk) before he was benched.
For those who think CDR is being disparately treated, what other starter is benched this long and has various bench players subbed instead? Is this a setup for CDR to not be able to show his skills at all? A move to totally sabotage his career What’s going on????
by Memphis Slim on Jan 31, 2010 7:10 PM EST reply actions
Correction:
CDR did not play in the SECOND QUARTER at all. Hope he plays in the second half for more than the 8 mins he has been allowed to play.

@ Memphis Slim
The Nets are winning, dude. Who cares about CDR’s minutes?

I care and everyone else who cares about CDR and his career or even just fairness regarding everyone having an equal opportunity.
And no, the Nets are NOT winning, dude.
by Memphis Slim on Jan 31, 2010 7:49 PM EST reply actions
They were winning when you wrote that, which is what most of us care about more than any particular player’s minutes. And they lost the lead with CDR on the floor in the 3rd quarter.
As fans of the team, we should care about Lopez’s minutes most, since he’s the most important piece for the future, but if the Nets win a game where Brook plays just five minutes, so be it.
If you care more about the minutes of one particular player over the success of the team, I don’t know what to say to you. I’m a Nets fan.

Jarvis Hayes is having a good game. The Nets are running plays for him and he’s capitalizing. As Fratello just said, “Jarvis is the open man..”.
Wonder why the Nets don’t run plays for CDR?? CDR is being shut out PERIOD.
by Jeff on Jan 31, 2010 8:14 PM EST reply actions
they do not run plays for CDR because CDR is not as good.

I’m a Nets fan too. The idea that I root for CDR and the team are not mutually exclusive ideas. Reminder – CDR is part of the Nets team TOO.
by Jeff on Jan 31, 2010 8:18 PM EST reply actions
I wish CDR would remember he was part of a team too.
