Nets "Seeding" Brooklyn Fan Base

Brett Yormark says the Nets' strategy is to "sell fun, not wins" to fans in New Jersey and "to sell hope, to sell the going-forward story" to fans in Brooklyn. And so they do more than they normally would in fan outreach, to "seed" that Brooklyn fan base, like sending Chris Douglas-Roberts and Terrence Williams to a Brooklyn pediatric ward. Can it work with a 3-40 record? As CDR tells the kids, "stay positive, because we are."

Why are you so sure? Based on what?

Classy move by sending T-Will and CDR to see the kids. They should get more involved in community work, maybe they’ll appreciate their lots in life and play harder.

“Brett Yormark says the Nets’ strategy is to "sell fun, not wins" to fans in New Jersey "

Just when you think Brett has run out of saliva, he still manages to find a way to spit in our faces.

“Just when you think Brett has run out of saliva, he still manages to find a way to spit in our faces.”

It never ceases to amaze. it would be really nice if Yormark took the time to meet some of us fans so we could express to him our appreciation for him treating us like such garbage these last few years.

Going to hospitals to visit sick patients is nothing to be belittled, so believe me, i’m not.

What disgusts me is that Yormark thinks he is somehow “being nice” to us New Jersey fans by treating us to this wonderful history-making product they are providing us as they leave the real fans of this team in the dust for the fairy-tale fan base he thinks this team has waiting for it in Brooklyn.

Stern is an outright disgrace for letting this happen. Shame on so many of you that call yourselves Nets fans that were fooled by these creeps.

This guy sucks. I want a guy that has NEW JERSEY NETS basketball pride and will do everything to market to those in this state. We don’t need a guy that has pride in other team’s players. Those reversable jerseys were an awful idea.
I still don’t believe that there are these ghost fans in Brooklyn itching to support the Nets. Like I have said before, if Brooklyn is so close to New Jersey, like many say, why have they not come out to the games before? Especially, if all this talk has been out there about the move to Brooklyn. In addition, I would like this guy to sit and watch all these Nets games and have “FUN” with us! Because, let me tell you this season has been a blast!

If you met with Tish James, who represents the area the complex is planned for, she will mention that she has been knocking on the doors and never heard anyone in support or demand for even just the arena. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ratner pays people to claim that they will be the new fans just like how he pays others to back his project. Even if they did move to Brooklyn, I highly doubt that many of those long time Knicks fans will ever convert to the Nets at least not in big numbers. Don’t even go there with the Mets, because the National League is not the same as the Western Confrence. Moving to NJ after their first season as an NBA franchise was the reason they couldn’t couldn’t compete with the Knicks if they stayed a NY team. Why would that change if they become one right now?

Well said above Tal – especially the part about paying off people in Brooklyn to claim they will support the team if it moves there. At this point we would expect nothing less from Ratner. I have hardly met anyone in Brooklyn, save for one or two exceptions that is currently a Knicks fan with intentions of switching allegiances if the team moves there – and I have been asking around for five years. And even those two didn’t seem certain about it.
