Game 44 - Clippers @ Nets - Wednesday, January 27, 7:30

The Nets are trying to get fans out to the IZOD Wednesday by offering $5 tickets and promising cast members from "Jersey Shore" will be on hand. Unfortunately, Devin Harris won't be. The Clips played the Celtics well for three quarters Monday, losing by six after. The Nets won't be the only one without a top player. Eric Gordon is questionable for L.A. Chris Douglas-Roberts promises a resurgence.

Is the game on YES at 7:30? I just turned to the game and “Yankeeography” is airing. Are they blacking out games now?

Oh Boy………Here we go again……

by NetFan48 on Jan 26, 2010 9:44 PM EST reply actions

It just dawned on me why we can’t win a game! Those God awful red jerseys are the root of our problems. They are our jinx. Give us our blue road jerseys back and we should be fine here on out!

by JustinNJ on Jan 27, 2010 12:26 AM EST reply actions

Yesssss! Red Jersey scapegoating is a go.

We need a RIP Red Unis from Hell/Beautiful in Navy Blue night where before the game players and fans burn the Red Unis together. C Lee was good in blue last year.

I don’t know if any of you are on the Nets Basketball facebook page, but I wanted to share someone’s thoughts from that page:

“the two most embarrassing things about jersey in the same embarrassing arena…”

If NETS cannot win this game, …. !!!!

by FPLC on Jan 27, 2010 2:15 AM EST reply actions

Kaman, Davis, Butler, Camby, Thronton > Harris, lee, CDR, Yi, Lopez….

Sigh somewhat 105-95. final score :D :D :D

Nets suck!!!

by Mr. omG on Jan 27, 2010 7:32 AM EST reply actions

Win for the Nets…Lee has had a tooth pulled and i think it was this that had his shooting all wonkey – he gonna score 30 tonight, withe CDR back to early season form getting another 25. Muscle Devil will also return in a late Allstar bid and lopez will have a solid 20-10 night.

Heck, even Quin will score 15, 3 of which will beat the buzzer to win the game 115-114.

Now where did i put my medication…

by Scott on Jan 27, 2010 10:19 AM EST reply actions

it would be SO stupid to get rid of CDR based on his performance. First the team needs to be coached in a way that there is an established system to work within. No player should be judged on his performance within the context of what’s happening with the Nets right now. You can’t be a great player all by yourself. Right now the Nets are too easy to defend because there’s no system of movement, no plays. It’s basically one Net vs. the other team. CDR is a 100% keeper, and the very least of the Nets problems.

by JT on Jan 27, 2010 10:19 AM EST reply actions

Totally agree JT. I like the kid, he has passion.

by Scott on Jan 27, 2010 10:30 AM EST reply actions

I wanna get rid of CDR because of his attitude. But anyway, clippers just smashed us a few days ago, why should this be any different?

by muwu on Jan 27, 2010 10:51 AM EST reply actions

How intruiging, I wanna keep CDR because of his attitude.

by Antoine on Jan 27, 2010 10:56 AM EST reply actions

Middle of the week, work tomorrow, it’s cold outside, Clippers vs Nets at the Izod Center. Gosh, I just can’t seem to get up the energy to go to this game, not exactly sure why. Maybe there is a documentary about bulimia or something to watch on TV instead.

by mt57 on Jan 27, 2010 10:57 AM EST reply actions

Good post up on netsarescorching right now on cdr

“The final thing I want to talk about is the whole notion of the offense or whatever conspiracy there is to limit CDR’s shots. I think this is just plain nonsense. The numbers seem to backup my point as well. I already told you about how CDR has only taken 31 shots in the past 6 games. I know that is a low number, but look at the other Nets’ wing Courtney Lee. Lee has gotten 46 shots up during that stretch. This is because he has been aggressive attack the basket every chance he gets. "

All that CDR being frozen out is complete nonsense. CDR’s the same as Devin now, just going through the motions.

by muwu on Jan 27, 2010 11:49 AM EST reply actions

i just read on HoopsWorld.com that Courtney Lee is questionable with “teeth injuries”. Any truth to this Net Income?

by MP3 on Jan 27, 2010 3:17 PM EST reply actions

at Justin:

“Those God awful red jerseys are the root of our problems. They are our jinx. Give us our blue road jerseys back and we should be fine here on out!”

We might not win too many road games in the “New Jersey blues” but at least it would be less of an insult to the fans and maybe the team could actually look like it has a professional caliber jersey. The “Nets” reds are the most hideous uniforms currently in the league hands down, and yes they are a complete slap to the fans of the NEW JERSEY Nets.

by Isaac on Jan 27, 2010 6:59 PM EST reply actions

On basketball note, if this team has ANY intentions of avoiding setting the league mark for worst record ever, they better rack up 2 W’s in this 4-game homestand (vs Clippers, vs Wizards, vs Sixers vs Pistons)

Lee hasn’t been aggressive at all. If you watch, all his points come off spot-up J’s. He really fails to score in any other way.

Nets playin well early on. DEfense and rebounding has greatly picked up (when there no harris?) and the ball is moving nicely. CDR!! lopez!!

Wow, we have a 16 point lead! Shocking what defense and rebounding can do.

by JustinNJ on Jan 27, 2010 8:34 PM EST reply actions

The nets need to talk on defense. It’s not hard.

by Sami on Jan 27, 2010 9:14 PM EST reply actions
