Harris Out Wednesday

Devin Harris says he'll wait until game time Wednesday to see if he can play, but Kiki Vandeweghe already knows his fate: "I don't expect Devin. He did not practice today." Harris couldn't even shoot at practice and spent most of it working with "therapeutic putty". Re reports that the Nets could shortcut their rebuilding plan and trade for a star (e.g. Amar'e Stoudemire), Vandeweghe said, "you’ve got to be open to everything."

over/under on fans showing up, 4k?

I hope the Nets force him to rest as much as possible, thought I think Devin is a competitor and hates sitting out. I just hope he realizes that he needs to be ready if we acquire Amar’e, so now is the time to rest up just in case. Please Thorn make it happen, this trade would be 10x better than Boozer!

These are the biggest 3 games of the season. These are winnable games, but I lost faith in this team to win a game with our new coach

Maybe (hopefully) Kiki is trying to admit indirectly that they’re at least having talks with Phoenix?

Harris
CDR
Yi
Amare
Lopez

could we play Yi at SF? Have a lakers-height like starting 5?

How many games could we win if we get Amare within the next week? We could probably finish the last 35 games out only a few games under .500 (16-19) WE SHALL NOT BREAK THE RECORD

by Jim on Jan 26, 2010 3:54 PM EST reply actions

They will want Yi

by Ravi Sheth on Jan 26, 2010 3:57 PM EST reply actions

It doesn’t make a difference if Harris plays or not

by Mr. Dollar Bills on Jan 26, 2010 3:57 PM EST reply actions

@Jim, No, Yi is not playing SF. We would trade Yi if we got Amare

by ben on Jan 26, 2010 4:00 PM EST reply actions

i read somewhere the nets might not include yi. would we have to temporarily hire a chinese coach to make up for the his absence?

by Jim on Jan 26, 2010 4:02 PM EST reply actions

Do you guys think if we’re giving up like 4 or 5 players we might get Stoudemire back plus another lower-level player? Who could that player be?

by Jim on Jan 26, 2010 4:06 PM EST reply actions

@ Jim…
Jarron Collins, Taylor Griffin or at the very best Jared Dudley.

by Dirt on Jan 26, 2010 4:09 PM EST reply actions

Who Cares!!!!Like we’re going to win if he was playing

by Barry from Brooklyn on Jan 26, 2010 4:29 PM EST reply actions

Give them YI and anyone elase just Keep Lopez , C.H as backup for Amare and our 1 pick the rest is garbage…. they are DL players …

by Tore on Jan 26, 2010 4:41 PM EST reply actions

Devin Harris can sit out the rest of the season. Without him, we might actually win 1 game or 2.

by JohnY on Jan 26, 2010 4:51 PM EST reply actions

I give them Yi in a heartbeat

by Mr. Dollar Bills on Jan 26, 2010 5:09 PM EST reply actions

Devin has had a bad run of luck, like the whole damn team has this year. Devin could be a better distributor, but we have no one on the coaching staff who could mentor him. Rondo has Doc, Jennings has Skiles, who does Devin have? We have a solid 6 or 7 pieces, let’s just sign one starting small forward, draft Wall, let THE HUMPH get his minutes and shots and let’s see what he’s got. AND let’s sign a decent coach, or let Del run the team, get a couple of experienced assistants and send KIKI back to the front office.

by Paul Erstein on Jan 26, 2010 5:19 PM EST reply actions

Sit him for the rest of the season! What’s the point to continue playing him this year?

Let DH get all the rest he needs. We’ll need him healthy when we reload next year with a new improved lineup or if we decide to trade him in the offseason.

by femdig on Jan 26, 2010 5:59 PM EST reply actions

I say sit him for the rest of the year. We need him healthy if we get #1 pick so we can trade his ass.

Who’s he kiddin, he’s not playing. Kobe’s out there playing with a broken hand and this guy gets a boo boo and is out for 6 months. The xrays already showed there’s nothing wrong with his wrist. he makes too much dam money to get away with this crap, time after time. His act is really getting old

by Barry from Brooklyn on Jan 26, 2010 9:03 PM EST reply actions

Al, any news on when the ownership will officially change. It would be nice if the NBA could let this happen on February 1. That should give us enough time to get something done. IF Thorn stays I think he knows exactly what he wants to do. Thorn hates losing as much as us fans. I know this is killing him.

by Barry from Brooklyn on Jan 26, 2010 9:15 PM EST reply actions

That’s a Shocker……..Judging by expectations of every player that the Nets ever had Devin Harris has to be the biggest disappointment of them all……I’m still giving Yi some time but not much….

by NetFan48 on Jan 26, 2010 9:30 PM EST reply actions

There are quite a few good point guards in D-League that deserve a call-up to a team with an empty roster space. Curtis Stinson and Mustafa Shakur could work out as cheap backups to a Devin Harris or a John Wall.

Is this Nets organization cheap, stupid, lazy, or all three?
