Are the Nets So Bad They Deserve a Special Ranking?

When you lose four games in a week by an average of 25 points, you're not just last, you're lost. The power ranking pundits have nothing left to say. It's gotten so bad one of them, John Schuhmann, thinks this week is the softest stretch of the Nets schedule, "but it's really hard to imagine them winning any of the four." Marc Stein simply says, "They're also getting worse somehow."

we will not win another game this season unless major moves are made. Quote me!

Hey at least we are the best at being the worst. If there was an award for the team that is the best at being the worst, the Nets would win it without doubt. We are so good at being the worst, they’ll name that award “The Nets”.

How about changing the coach for starters.

Nets are pushing the Newark Invitational High School tourney at The Rock this Saturday.
Seems to me they are one step closer to movin to Newark for next season.

yes, this is the worst team I have ever seen in any professional sport….Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1st season comes close, but they have an excuse, it was their first season, the NETS have no excuse for not putting out 100 percent on the court. With unemployment and the economy in shambles, NBA players could have the decency to give 100 percent and no one on this team does….no one.

This team is so bad the washington generals are scouting us for pointers on how to lose more efficiently.

To quote some pre-season insiders:
“The Nets can be a 25-win team over the season…”
I think they meant a 25 ppg team !

It is time to pay Mike Fratello a few bucks and try to spare us the humilation of the worst record in league history. I’m not saying it’s a lock but I truly believe the team could win another 7 or 8 games with Fratello instructing them the rest of the way. Not saying he is the long-term answer, just to save this team from the ultimate disgrace it is headed for under Kiki.

The Nets have one play, the give and go, so it’s not hard to prepare for them.
by JT on Jan 25, 2010 5:38 PM EST reply actions
The Nets deserve to be ranked in a special category. The name of this category is a four letter word, that starts with an “s” and ends with a “t”

The team under Vandeweghe does look worse.
They’ve gone from terrible to even more terrible.
Its actually funny when you think about it.
The Nets brass took the team with the worst start in NBA history and replaced the coach with someone with no coaching experience. In effect they took a team in free fall and tied an anchor to it.
What an organization.
Here come the Russians.

Let’s hope it doesn’t get any worse. It could, you know.

we should just retire this name and play in totally stock practice jerseys next season.
by sonny on Jan 25, 2010 6:19 PM EST reply actions
Get rid of the red jerseys already, they are a hideous and a reminder to the fans about how badly we are being insulted by the lack of any “New Jersey” presence. They certainly haven’t led to any on-court success and I haven’t seen them exactly flying off the shelves in Brooklyn to all those youngsters supposedly awaiting their arrival.
by Isaac on Jan 25, 2010 6:34 PM EST reply actions
We are so bad and because we will have the worst record ever and NO TEAM could even be this bad if they purposely tanked the season that David Stern should change the Lottery Rules before the draft gets here and the Nets , no doubt , should get the # 1 pick…………………….Also , I agree with Isaac….Fratello does a pretty darn good job of coaching the Nets as he is commentating and he sometimes sounds as if he wants to leave his seat and go to the Bench and take over….
by NetFan48 on Jan 25, 2010 7:26 PM EST reply actions
if we drop t 3-50. they our going to put us ranked under d-league teams.
by tu vieja on Jan 25, 2010 7:35 PM EST reply actions
thank you NetFan48 – you are one of the few still paying attention. Winning nine games or fewer is such a humiliating thought it defies logic. Fratello was the answer when the change was made and he still is. When calling the games, he seems so interested in getting back on the sidelines, he would probably accept the temporary assignment. And if he could somehow find a way for this pitiful excuse for an NBA team to get to 10-wins, there would likely be another head coaching spot waiting for him next season.
by Isaac on Jan 25, 2010 7:41 PM EST reply actions
Not only Fratello, even Spinakle calls some plays before they happen.
I think it is time for Kiki and Del to go. I also think Del is overrated. Frank did a better job than those two.

Why my post is awaiting moderation. I didn’t say anything bad. WTH.
by Tony on Jan 25, 2010 8:45 PM EST reply actions
How about we give Frank another try. He lost 17 straight, but he didn’t have the whole team like Kiki does and he actually had them competing and not getting blown out every game.

Special ranking sounds good.
The #1 pick should go to Team X and the 2,3 and 4 pick to the Nets, otherwise they will not be able to be an NBA-ready team next season.
