Game 42 - Nets @ Warriors - Friday, January 22, 10:30

Let the second season begin! The Nets begin the second half of their season Friday, with a late night game in the Bay area. The Warriors have the third worst record in the NBA and have lost seven of their last 10, but they played the Cavs right up to the last minute Monday. Stephen Curry is averaging 16.8 points on 57.6 percent shooting in January. It's Asian Heritage night at the Oracle.

Warriors: High octane-offense + weak defense.
Nets: Don’t know what to call-offense + weak defense.
=
Warriors win.

Warriors will probably win in blowout fashion. I don’t see the Nets winning another game this year. They are just that bad.

This has potential to be the biggest blowout in the NBA this season. The Nets don’t defend and can’t shoot, and unless they catch the warriors on an off night, this will get ugly. I’m predicting this score:
Golden State 148 – NJ 88
Worst blowout in the NBA in many years… Prove me wrong Nets!

we lose by a minimum of 30 pts. Ellis will have 50pts. devin harris will have 13.
brook will have a big game though.
cdr will have 6 pts in 31 min.
yi will have a double double with most production coming in the last 5 min of the 4th quarter.

Liked AI’s column. Of course, it’s easy for a beat reporter to rip the players when he doesn’t think they’ll be around to cover for very long.

Can someone circle a win on the remaining schedule?

Ellis will make quick work of any defense we have.

But the Nets were much more competitive and defensive-minded and were held accountable when Lawrence Frank was the coach.
That Al Ianozzone talking. Hmmmmm. Time for Kiki to Kiki some butt. He needs to sit Yi and CDR when they play indifferent D. He needs to sit Lee when he gets lost out there. He needs to sit Yi when he goes 1 – 11, not give him garbage time minutes to lift his stats. He needs to sit Harris when he stops defending and he needs to sit Lopez when he takes foolish shots. He should sit himself mostly.

I hope the first thing Proky does is hire a coach that won’t stand for this garbage. Kiki is waaaaaay too soft. Or a veteran player who will get on anyones case who is not doing their job, ala Garnett. Something has to change. I think Thorn has this huge to do list that he can’t wait to use as soon as the ownership changes.

@geo
Why are you worried about Yi getting garbage time minutes? Are you affraid he will get injured and no longer be a starter? Ha.
by Tim on Jan 21, 2010 8:40 PM EST reply actions
Kiki needs to save his boy Yi for the 4th quarter run against the 3rd stringers so he can get his 20 and 10. Hump is playing too well at PF, he will be gone soon.
by Tom F on Jan 21, 2010 9:28 PM EST reply actions
I agree is time to sit Yi down, and let Hump play. There comes a time when enuff is enuff. Lee, Yi is starting to turn to Rat waste.

Whatever happened to Josh. Hey didnt we actually win a couple of games when he started.

“geo Says:
He needs to sit Harris when he stops defending."
You do realize that Harris would only average 1 minute per game if he did that?
by Mr. Dollar Bills on Jan 22, 2010 12:25 PM EST reply actions
WIN..Because I am not staying up that late to watch another Loss…..(Yi…..18 points…….12 in the last 3 minutes of Garbage Time…..And Yi….8 Handwaves at the player he is guarding as they score the rock….)

by NiceBull on Jan 22, 2010 1:49 PM EST reply actions
If they’re going to avoid ignominy, they have to beat “the third worst team in the NBA”. Time is running out.
LOL @Mr Dollar Bill’s line.

Interesting…..wasn’t there a guy on here suggesting we trade Simmons, CLee/CDR and Dallas’s first round pick for Maggette and Curry the other day? Wow, who knew they were that good! And to think some folks on here comdemned him for proposing an offer like that………
by Adam on Jan 23, 2010 12:28 AM EST reply actions
Some deal has to be made before Feb 18. Yi is the main problem as I see it. He won’t be playing much next year anyway. I wish his value was higher as it might have been a couple of weeks ago.
Alert for Evan Turner at 2PM on CBS.
