Nate Will Keep Lobbying for TWill in Dunk Contest

If any of the participants in this year's Dunk contest drops out, Nate Robinson says he'll lobby for Terrence Williams to get a spot. Robinson, Gerald Wallace, Shannon Brown and the winner of a dunk-in between Eric Gordon and DeMar DeRozan will compete at All-Star Weekend next month. Robinson and TWill are both from Seattle and even before names were announced, Robinson said he wanted Williams.

Twill would win if he gets to join. hopefully someone drops out cause I am not excited to see anyone in this lineup.

I hope Terrence is in the dunk contest just so it gives us Nets fans something to cheer about.

it should be lebron james, gerald wallace, kevin durant and t/will or shannon brown FOR THE SLAM DUNK CONTEST 2010

nets will have a long week to rest in the all-star weekend

no net, i thought lopez was going to the all-star, is going to suit up in Dallas…

a shame but they can rest the injuries and get the basketball off their heads! and freshen up their minds.

so far

P.S terrence williams suck as much as sean williams, those 2 are the works picks taken by the Nets ever!!!

Who cares?

Fire Kiki!

Hollah!

BLopez IS going to be in Dallas;
representing the Sophomores!

TWill Would get his Swollen head back, if he were in the Slam Dunk contest.

However, I still would like to see him go against DeRozan on Friday night to get into the contest.
TWill can do the “elbow in the rim” dunk.

One outcome if TWill was selected, is that it would make Kiki look like a jerk for not playing him more.

Hey lopez, and maybe lee and cdr might go to the rookie sophomore game..

by AC24 on Jan 18, 2010 11:37 PM EST reply actions

@AC24

Hopefully if all 3 make the Soph team, we wont embarass ourselves and lose that too! And if I remember correctly the Soph team has had the considerable edge over the yrs.

If so, it would be blamed on the Nets aura.

Yi should participate in the dunk contest doing what he does best: _____________ (ya’ll can fill in the blank)

by JohnY on Jan 18, 2010 11:54 PM EST reply actions

The main thing young players learn when they are losing is how to lose. It becomes a habit.

a Twill tweet

“Is that really the dunk contest this year hahahhahahahhahhahahahaha even if I got asked next year I would say no” Ya real mature we have to play this fool

by Kyle on Jan 19, 2010 12:25 AM EST reply actions

That would be the one Net bright spot of 2009-2010… make it happen Gerald Wallace’s ankle!

by Tim on Jan 19, 2010 12:34 AM EST reply actions

I have to admit – I have been the biggest Nets optimist for a long long time……But its getting very hard to keep watching this team. Guys just seem like they don’t care anymore. Simply going thru the motions for their paychecks…Hopefully I wake up tomorrow in a better mood.

by Ryan243 on Jan 19, 2010 1:12 AM EST reply actions

T-Will is going through the motions right now…the dunk contest is the last thing he needs to be focused on

by Mr. Dollar Bills on Jan 19, 2010 2:07 AM EST reply actions

Lebron is suuuch a competitor huh? Backing out of the slam dunk contest because he’s afraid losing might affect his global icon image or what. Please, it would do nothing to him.

by muwu on Jan 19, 2010 2:57 AM EST reply actions

superb: you’re NOT excited to see Shannon Brown go at it? Or maybe DeMar DeRozan? Could be good!

by Gerard Himself on Jan 19, 2010 2:57 AM EST reply actions

How about TWill “napping on top of the rim” lol! I want to see him do that in that contest.

by gemini on Jan 19, 2010 6:24 AM EST reply actions

We’re better off with Dejuan Blair than TWill.

by gemini on Jan 19, 2010 6:26 AM EST reply actions

Like we really need TWIll focusing on something other than helping the NETS win games. He needs to commit to team play rather than get involved in one on one tournaments.

I think it could be good for him, to go out and remember that basketball is supposed to be FUN. Maybe get him motivated again… ahhhh who am I kidding.

by Tom on Jan 19, 2010 9:53 AM EST reply actions

All-Star weekend is a joke……..Players who should be there don’t get picked..The players don’t even play hard…It’s like a Big Party now…It used to be a great game….The Stars don’t want to be in the contests because they might lose and be frowned upon…..I wouldn’t doubt if Yi gets picked to add some International flair…..

by NetFan48 on Jan 19, 2010 10:28 AM EST reply actions

If you dont like all star weekend you dont like basketball.

by Tim on Jan 19, 2010 11:24 AM EST reply actions

Maybe Yi could play a Frederic Weis type role in the slam dunk and let the guys take shots at going over him.

by Peter on Jan 19, 2010 12:38 PM EST reply actions

CAN TWILL EVEN DUNK THE BALL? ALL HE DOES IS TAKE JUMP SHOTS THAT HE MISSES 75% OF THE TIME!

by Kupalski on Jan 19, 2010 2:14 PM EST reply actions

They should do a Dunk Contest with Terrence Williams, DeMar DeRozan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Dwight Howard! The ratings would go THROUGH THE ROOF!

by diehardNFFLbarnone on Jan 19, 2010 2:34 PM EST reply actions

Remember when Kidd did the PG challenge thing. He did it, won and moved on. How many years do we have to watch the same guys and also-rans?
