Najera Welcomes Return to Winning Ways

Sounding disappointed about his stay in New Jersey, Eduardo Najera says he's excited about returning to Dallas and winning. "Obviously right now we need play makers and I'm not that type of guy," said Najera. "We need one-on-one guys and I'm not that type of guy. I'm the guy that's going to keep his mouth shut, have a good attitude, always come to work when he's healthy and try to help win ball games.''

Najera since you didn’t help the nets much, maybe you could help the mavs lose so we could get a nicer mavs pick? Mid first round would be GReAT!

Najera I dont know why we offered you a contract or why you didnt sign with the Thunder who offered you more money. Your 2 seasons you played 40 games and never scored more then 10 points. You are a huge bum that deserves a spit in the face from every loyal nets fan out there.
I wont miss you and I am happy with whom we got in return, I would have traded you for a toy race car. Please never step foot in a Nets uniform I beg you. Please just retire and dont mention the Nj Nets again you have cost us enough.

najera if you need a ride to the airport let me know! cant get you there fast enough. he may have been the worst signing in nets history.

I have a feeling that he will do better in Dallas. Here he can’t do good when you have a bad team. Najera was as bad as Magloire when we had him.

Najera is right about how he fits on a team. Pretty honest description of his game by him. I think it’s true, you need a potent offensive unit and generally a good team for him to fit well. Adding an energy guy to 10-20 points down isn’t really going to help that much if the offensive unit can’t come back in and take over.

ok so its almost a done deal.
Now the nets have to trade boone.
i wonder who will want him.
by njd on Jan 9, 2010 11:39 PM EST reply actions
i’m going to look for players the nets could and probably would trade for.

He speaks the truth, Nets players stink. He was brought in to fill a role that never developed.

Najara was the best player for the nets this season, show some respect.
Now This is how I really feel… He’s a Bum!!!

“when im healthy” is the key phrase YOU ARE NEVER HEALTHY even when you are on the court i sometimes see u running and grabbing your back. sometimes the only reason i think your still in the league is because you are the only mexican NBA player. now keep your mouth SHUT and hopefully you wont strain you back puttin on your new uniform good riddens!!!

In two years, I can’t think of a single positive moment for Eduardo Najera. I find it hard to believe he can help the Mavericks or any other NBA team. He can’t rebound, he can’t shoot, he has no offensive game. He is slower than he used to be and he is constantly injured. In today’s game, he is totally useless, and because of the ridiculous four year contract we gave him, he has negative value for a team.

Hey guys stop complaining, Marc cuban might change his mind if he start believing. Just welcome Humphries, forget about what Najera says, HIm building up his own good image helps and facilitate his departure from the NETS.

Hassell is the same player as Najera and is 1000 times better
by ben on Jan 10, 2010 12:56 AM EST reply actions
Najera and Swat were bad ideas from the start. If the current Net management team isn’t held accountable for these mistakes, they need to stop wasting opportunities by drafting “athletes” who can’t ball and signing over the hill, low skill, “hustle/character” guys to long-term contracts.

Can someone explain why we’re shopping boone?
i think we should try to trade battie and simmon if at all possible…
KD, Hassell are playing well…I like boone also. Hayes when 100% if very valuable off the bench.
I would prob get rid of terrence willams…

I would be bitter about an experience with this franchise too, this organization has been run second rate for years.

Eddie’s a good pro. Im happy we got rid of him and signing him to that ridiculous contract was a terrible idea, but Eddie was a solid vet to have next to our kids, always plays hard and has had a good career in this league. But he’s done and Im happy we got rid of his contract.

Agreed!
I’d like to keep KD, Trent and Josh…
As for Boone being shopped, the Nets are trying to unload him to save some money, according to Wojnarowski.

Classy and a hard worker. Too bad he was hurt so much. He will help the Mav’s. He is a complimentary player and we need so much help!!!! Bad fit.
by Yao on Jan 10, 2010 8:55 AM EST reply actions
well I don’t blame Najera about being disappointed. However, he did sign with the Nets over several other contenders, saying it was his goal to be teaching the young players how to play the right way. Maybe he was initially brought onboard just as a practice dummy to teach the kids a thing or two the coaching staff couldn’t.

Najera is garbage. What a waste of a player. He is old, slow, out of shape, he cannot shoot and he is always hurt. I think he was so lazy. His back hurts and he misses 3 weeks. I think he was a waste to the organization. He brought nothing to the table. I am glad he is gone. Good riddance to rubbish.
by Joe P. on Jan 11, 2010 12:42 AM EST reply actions
Najera is not that kind of player who scores a lot rebound a lot his job is
the what someones call “the dirty job” ask George Karl about it he knew how to obtain the max of him that’s the diffrence between a simple coach and a great coach.
You guys need to learn the game of basketball in all aspects.
