Nets Hope Healthy New Year Leads to Happy New Year

Tim Walsh is getting a long overdue rest. Health is returning to the Nets locker room. That's giving the Nets hope their disastrous season is nearing a turnaround. After all, their top seven players have already missed 75 games to injury, with only Brook Lopez playing in every game. "I think we'll be fine now," says Chris Douglas-Roberts. "I really see us going on the up and up."

I said it time and time again. The Nets need their full team to be a competitive force to reckon with. Unfortunately, the problem of the Nets is not their starting five, but the bench. We’re by far the worst bench in the league. Without Dooling, we’d risk having 0 bench pts every game. Our starting 5 are much better than the Wolves, and all the other bad teams for it matters. And when guys like Hassel and Boone become starters, problems will crop up and a 3-29 record will ensue.
Now don’t expect this team to go on a 20 winning streak just because it finally has its starting five. No way. But expect them to be a bad team which loses 4 games and wins 1, roughly.
Let’s give this team a chance. With starters game in game out, we can be a 20 win team, and maybe, have a 2 game winning streak once in a while.

This season is really strange for Nets fans.
Nobody loves the losing but each win seems so special.
We only have 3 wins so far, but each win has brought me so much joy.
If they start winning on a regular basis, it might start too seem “routine”.
I guess “life”, especially “Nets life” is paradoxical.
When we win, we lose, and when we lose, we win…
Oh well…

I am so conditioned to losing, that 1 little win does feel amazing, your right. A win means so much more to me then any other teams fans I would suspect.
Unfortunately we play the best team in the east next…

Cleavland is NOT the best team in the EAST. It’s merely the third best team. Both Boston and Orlando are better.

Well, according to the standings. If the season ended right now they would have the most wins east or west.

Mike, so true, I was at the Knicks game and I felt like it was a playoff game it is so unusual to have a lead. I kept turning to my daughter saying, only 8 more minutes, just 7 etc to get a win. It was the win I attended since April.
ND, since only 12 players can suit up, it’s not unusual for a bench player to sit out with a minor injury. I imagine we will soon see SWat filling one of the inactive spots though.

Yea, the bench is pretty awful. Other then Dooling we got an inconsistent rookie, a defensive specialist, and a bunch of guys who are either useless or too depleted to do anything. Hopefully when Hayes get healthy he can provide some production off the bench.
