Nets Add Assistant

The Nets have filled out their coaching staff with new assistant John Loyer, who worked under Maurice Cheeks in Portland and Philadelphia and is credited with aiding the quick development of Sixers forward Thaddeus Young. With the departure of Brian Hill, the other Nets assistants were not required to take a much-talked-about pay cut.

I’m so happy the Nets coaching staff won’t starve this year… Great news, Rod Thorn is highering expectations. You would think he would be lowering them if he really thought the Nets sucked. It’s begining to feel alot like X-mas. Can’t wait to open our new Nets presents. Lets go Nets.

He looks like Ira Gilligan

So the entire Nets coaching staff can now thank Brian Hill for the turkeys on their tables on Thanksgiving day.

Yea Tom Barrise was going to rent his own private jet…but now he can buy it. Lets not go crazy, even with a pay cut these guys still make great money.

Congrats to Rod and Kiki for finding Waldo.

Psychofan, I don’t think that is true, after the head coach and his top assistant, these guys aren’t all highly paid. I think one of the articles posted here said that Rodgers makes around $100K. I think Barisse probably flys coach when he goes on vacation.

So 100k a year to work 6-9 months out the year sitting down and basicly repeating what the head coach says isnt great?

@Rory

That is one of the best comments I’ve ever seen here. Kudos, sir.

We are going to be horrible who is this guy? Might aswell just find people off the street or find some rec teams and ask the coaches for jobs.
Pathetic how low the nets are getting..

How bad is this coaching staff?!? Most Division-2 College teams couldn’t compete with these type of instructors, and i’m not being sarcastic.

John Loyer is a hard worker that knows how to develop players, especially guards. He cut his NBA teeth as an advance scout with the Blazers after 10+ years in college coaching.

This is a great hire for the Nets.

Can they hire me. I’ll accept half of what they are getting. All I have to do is supplement with somekind of business like during flights sell some amenities for other passengers. Let’s say for 30 flights 5 bucks per passenger not bad S500 to $1k.

I am optimistic about this guys experience.
