Ager Lands in Spain

Maurice Ager will be using his passport soon to continue his pro basketball career. The 6'5" shooting guard, acquired in the Jason Kidd trade, has signed with El Cajasol of the Spanish League. Ager averaged 1.7 points and 0.5 rebounds over 20 games for the Nets last season. He played two years each with the Nets and Mavs.

I hate when we talk reminisce but he was a player who have no future or no value just like Josh Boone, Tony Battie, and Bobby Simmons.

does this clear a roster spot? what’s the effect of this on the Nets?

If he’s gone then the Nets are now at 14. Now they can bring in a fan to play as the 15th man.

Ager leaving doesn’t clear up a roster spot, we are still at 15. Tony Battie has no future? He has only been in the NBA for years now…

Yeah, Ager was not under contract this yera no more.
I refuse to remember him as a Net. What for?
A player more useless than Collins….blah.

Ager was an unrestricted free agent.
We stand at 15 players and we want to be down to 13.
Ager needs to play so good luck to Mo.

We are at the max:15
at the end of last season we waived stro and we had 14.
then we traded VC and Anderson for alston, Battie and Lee, making 15.
Ager expired(14) and we drafted Williams (back at 15)

He’ll never be back in the NBA. He cashed in though. I’m sure he’s a nice guy. See ya…

He might be making more in Europe. European players get cars, a housing allowance and taxes are paid up front. I think he will do well in Spain.
On his last birthday, Ager was a draw for some new club. They paid him, he brought his friends and teammates and the club got some publicity. In a video taken at the party, Ager is heard telling someone, “you can make a lot of money in the NBA if you keep your nose close”. Ager is known as a very good kid if not a good player…but he’s made about $2.927 million in the NBA, not counting any endorsements, license fees, etc. So at 25 years old, he’s made $3 million and will now get a chance to live in southern Spain. Not a bad life.
