Frank Interviews Hill Replacements as Rogers Considers Rutgers

Lawrence Frank is close to naming Brian Hill's replacement, writes Al Iannazzone. Iannazzone doesn't have any candidate's name but suggests he's unlikely to be well known. Roy Rogers, who helped Brook Lopez's development, may be headed to Rutgers. Rogers, who had to take a pay cut, will decide by Monday. Jim Sann, a coaching associate close to Devin Harris, could be rehired if Rogers leaves.

C’mon, give the man some respect! His chicken nuggets are the most delicious food on the Turnpike.

Maybe the Nets can get Mike Fratello to come over and help coach during T.V. commercials.

It’s kind of embarrassing when the Nets can’t afford to pay an assistant that Rutgers can.

REUTERS:NJ NETS NAME BRUCE RATNER’S LONGTIME SECRETARY AS NEW ASSISTANT COACH OF THE NETS.
REUTERS: RATNER “EDITH COHEN HAS WORKED AS MY SECRETARY FOR THE PAST 25 YEARS. SHE IS A CASUAL BASKETBALL FAN HAVING ATTENDED A HS GAME LAST YEAR AND BEING THE LUCKY RECIPIENT OF A HANDFUL OF NETS TICKETS IN THE SCREECHER SEATS THE PAST FEW SEASONS.”
Its rumored that Edith will be splitting her time between Lawrence Frank’s bench and the Forest City Ratner offices in Brooklyn, and has been awarded with a $5,000 bonus for her new responsibilites. She is excited for her new opportunity and “is looking forward to seeing that tall fellow I see in Nike ads named LeBoom play”
If only this were not so sad it would be funny….

Maybe the next sales promotion for season ticket renewals will be your chance to serve as a “guest” assistant coach for a day!

Our front office is still better than the Bucks… not that it’ll make anyone feel better.

surely there must be couple kindhearted souls out there willing to volunteer at the nonprofit known as the Nets…

Seriously – just have a “fan coach of the night” promotion -and i’m not even talking about the assistants at this point. Any decent high school coach in Jersey could do about as well as Lawrence has, as long as they can break down video. The state of the coaching staff reflects the entire organization right now – an absolute complete disgrace.

I’m sure there are candidates lining up around the corner to work on the Nets bench for $27,000
Its not quite like working the cash register at Shop Rite, but at least you get to travel

I find it commendable that Roy Rogers did not follow in his Father’s footsteps with the restaurants. That he made a success for himself on his own, says alot about his character, he will be missed.

I am available to fill a coaching vacancy. I am 55 years old, and will work very cheaply. In the mid 1970s, I coached for two seasons in the Jewish Center Basketball League in Brooklyn. We had a good team, but I admit that at least two of the kids on the team were NOT Jewish…a sin in the JCBL!
But I am ready to assist Coach Frank. I will tell Devin to keep his head up, and look to make good passes. I will tell him and Brook to play “pick & roll” basketball. I will tell YI to “go to the hole strong”. I will call “TV time outs”. I promise not to call Coach Frank “OPIE”. But of most importance, I will work cheap! Call me at 561 555-5555 (you don’t think I am posting my real number for you loonies do you…..)

what’s the point of drafting bluechip lottery picks if the team isn’t willing to pony up $100,000 or so for asst coach to develop said pick… guess that’s why i’m a stupid fan and not a successful billionaire owner like ratner. this really calls into question the supposed strategy of investing and nurturing young talent. what a farce.

Teachers at all levels are incredibly important …coaches for these kids are essentially teachers and the Nets need to pay them if they are really investing in the future.
High level coaches yield results
If Marc Jackson is not chosen for Minnesota …maybe he would finally take an assistants job ….maybe Lambier for a big man coach
it seems unlikely on both fronts as the nets do not want to pay anyone which seems a very short sighted approach

The Nets should be able to get someone young and hungry who’s willing to work for a mere $100,000 per year. How many millions of people in the U.S. alone, and you’re trying to tell us that Brian Hill and Roy Rogers are so talented and special that they are practically indespensible? Give me a break… Get rid of Franks while were at it… Oops, he irreplaceable, I forgot…
