
MaryAnne Gilmartin, Forest City Ratner vice president, told a city hearing last week that the company is pursuing federal stimulus money for Barclays Center construction. Technically, the arena will be a public project owned by the state but leased to the Nets. Gilmartin didn't say how much money is being sought but said it was needed. City officials have said there will be no more local funds alloted for the project.
