In Tough Times, "Mass Workouts" Saving Big Bucks

More than 80 execs from more than 20 teams will gather Friday at the Nets practice facility for the last of three "mass workouts" and each is likely to go home richer, at least in terms of cost savings. The Nets spent $100,000 last year on 50 individual workouts. This year, they will limit individual workouts to a small number and spend a fraction of that. Rod Thorn says they and the players are likely to be better served.
