Rogers: Taking It One Day at a Time

Six months after a dirt bike accident left him paralyzed from the neck down, Rodney Rogers told his old teammate Chris Webber that he has to "take it one day at time". He admits "it gets tough at times...some days are rougher than others." Rogers has been given only a five percent chance of walking again. His wife, Faye, told Webber "it's God's will" and if he doesn't walk again, he will still live a full, happy life.

Watching that video gave me goosebumps. I met Rodney back when he was with the Nets one time before a game. I was like 14 years old and I remember seeing his height and that deep southern voice and it was over whelming for me. He was one of my favorite players at that time and it was all I talked about for weeks was meeting Rodney. Seeing him like that really makes you appreciate what you have when you have it.
5% chance of walking is better than nothing. I hope he gets the treatment he needs so one day he can have the chance to walk again. Get better Rodney, and God bless.

I still shake my head and feel terrible whenever Rodney Rogers is brought up. Watching a man of that size play the game of basketball for so long and then fined out he may never walk again is just almost unreal. I always liked Rodney and my prayers are with him.

I watched that segment when it aired and it was very powerful.
He is in a real tough spot but he is lucky to be surrounded by so many people who care and support him.
He was a good net and seems like a great guy. I remember watching him on the nuggets when he first came out.
All the best.
