Thorn Will Sit in Lottery Spotlight

Rod Thorn made the greatest draft pick in NBA history when he took Michael Jordan at #3 in 1984. So who better to be sitting on the stage next Tuesday when David Stern announces who'll be picking where in the lottery? The NBA announced the identities of those who will represent each of the 14 teams that will travel to the old NBA TV studio in Secaucus. Last year, the Nets sent Jay-Z to the lottery. Didn't work.

Actually it did work when Jay-Z went. We got the second best rookie in the Draft. Lopez may turn out to be a Hall of Famer. There are’nt too big men in game better than him right now. If he’s lucky to stay healthy for most of his career, It may turn out to be Thorns second greatest draft pick. I wouldn’t mind seeing Jay-Z up there again if Rod can’t make it.

NBA TV studios are now in Atlanta, only offices remain in Secaucus.

Well, they’re having the lottery in Secaucus. So, there still must be a studio there.

LOL this makes me flash back when “TRENTON” was upset about Jay-Z representing the Nets in the draft hahaha he said “Whos next they’ll probably have Rick Ross on here BOSS!” Ahahaha the funniest post I ever read on this site.

I hope we come in second and grab Hasheem Thabeet, and play him along side Brook

I want the Nets to get the third pick, so Thorn can pick Jordan again.

With the minimal chance of getting the second pick, the even smaller chance of picking Thabeet, cows will fly before Opie would play 2 bigs like that together. Although imo it’s not exactly the way I would solve our defensive problem it would be a step in the right direction.

haha. I remember that 732_Franchise.

Its like 4 seconds of camera time with no speaking parts and Jay Z had to make that appearance. Bizarre

Ricky Ross in 2010!

Send Jay z again…. I want another draft steal!

Finally, some camera time for Rod. He’s really going to look good in HD.

Haha. Rod looks like a character from Ren and Stimpy.

I’m sure I won’t even remember the lottery is on. I’ll probably be watching Andrew Zimmern eat some Bizarre foods.

If the Nets get #1, take Blake Griffin. If the Nets get #2 or #3, trade it in a package for a solid veteran, such as Chris Bosh.

Last year’s draft was just great for us, but history shows that we have not always been so lucky:

2007 17th Sean Williams
2006 22nd Marcus Williams
2006 23rd Josh Boone
2005 15th Antoine Wright
2004 22nd Viktor Khryapa
2003 22nd Zoran Planinic

There were lots of better players chosen after this sad list of underachievers.

AND we know that Antoine Wright doesn’t even know how to give an intentional foul. Look for Mark Cuban to cut his sorry a_ _ AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. and can anybody tell me who
Viktor Khryapa is, and which coal mine in Slovenia he is working at? KIKI, THORN and the rest of the staff better do their homework this year. We need someone worthwhile in the draft, not another Viktor Khryapa!!!!!

@Paul Erstein

I’m glad you put the list, if you look at Houston 2 big players for the playoffs. We could easily have Carl Landry
Aron Brooks, even Ariza.

Instead we have garbage player after player except for Lopez and so called good pick in kristic, which Net Income has been bragging about.

In Thorn we don’t trust, he should just work on trades and leave it to other people for draft picks.
