Nets Among "About a Dozen" Teams Interested in Luther Head

Mark Bartelstein, agent for combo guard Luther Head, says the Nets are among "about a dozen" teams who've called about his client. "Kiki (Vandeweghe) just left a message," Bartelstein said Sunday. Hours later, the Nets cleared a roster spot by waiving Stromile Swift. Head had been waived by the Rockets Saturday, permitting him to play in the post-season. The Nets also have interest in Quincy Douby.

Get it done!

lets see if we really wana make a playoff push by having to spend a couple extra bucks.

of course its not that easy and if a contending team like the cavs or someone offer him a deal we dont have a shot.

i think we can offer him PT especially with dooling being a little hurt now and it always seems either keyon or devin is banged up a bit. bringing in luther gives us another offensive weapon and gives us depth

would be great if he picks us, but i’d be surprised if we were the best fit for him

i think the way cdr played tonite may have changed any thought process of getting some head.

Having Head around doesn’t hurt at all, especially if we’re going to be down a point guard every now and then

Lets do this. He can add toughness and shooting to our rotation. We also don’t have to lose anyone in the process.

I would like for the Nets to add Head, but the other guy I would love for them to sign would be Gooden. I know it’s not going to happen, and they only have room for one person, but it showed tonight that they need someone else who can crash the boards.

I’m all for this. We need some more shooting. I doubt he’ll play in jersey though.

Opie could use some Head. He could play him at the 4.

Not sure we’ll get him. If we hadn’t moved Swift, I would have bet this was just doing a favor for his agent by helping drive up the guy’s price. But maybe we’re for real. He’ll sure be an improvement over Ager, and with DH and KD getting banged up here and there, it’s a good move. I am pleasantly surprised management wd make a move that costs dollars.
