Nets Not Interested in Mikki Moore

Mikki Moore's agent says the former Net will decide Tuesday where he will play the rest of this season. Mark Bartelstein told the Rocky Mountain News that Boston, Denver, Dallas, New Orleans and San Antonio have all expressed interest. He is expected to sign with the Celtics. The Kings released Moore Thursday. He had previously lobbied the Kings for a trade to New Jersey.

I think the nets are not gonna make the playoffs because of Vince Carters struggles and not because of lack of big men. We have Lopez, boone, najara, swift, anderson, yi so we are a big team. What we do need is another PG, ( cassell, jason williams, etc) and that should help us. If not, trade VC in the offseason for Rudy Fernandez and Co. and try to trade for Caron Butler.

I really think that they shouldn’t have passed on getting Mikki Moore back in Nets uniform. The way they are playing, they would really need him. I actually liked how he played on the Nets. As a matter of fact, he didn’t want to leave them especially since that was the first team that actually put him in the starting lineup, though it was mainly because Nenad Kristic was injured that year. He should have also have won Most Improoved Player in that season with the Nets, but he only got one vote, which was from Charles Barkley.

Mikki was a great guy and a great player and I hope he wins a ring with the Celtics, but there is no way he was worth the money he was asking for. Anyways, I hope we can sign Douby to a deal that might lift our bench a little. Plus, he’s a hometown product.

I think he was #45 when he sat on the bench here in the 03-04 season.
