Game 49 - Bucks @ Nets - Tuesday, February 3, 7:30

Richard Jefferson is back! The second of the two missing pieces of the Big Three arrives in East Rutherford Tuesday with his Bucks team barely intact. Michael Redd is out for the year and Andrew Bogut, beset with back spasms, didn't travel. Still, the Bucks have won two straight and are a game and a half ahead of the Nets. Jefferson is averaging 17.2 ppg, but Charlie Villaneuva's driving them in Redd's absence.

The Nets need to carry their momentum over to this game, and they not only need to win but win in dominating fashion, something they have not been able to do. This Bucks team is too weak for us to not beat them with ease.

Anyone other season ticket holders going to the “Town Hall” meeting at the practice facility tonight?

Look at the Knicks next 3 games. Lakers, Cavaliers, then Celtic.
if there was ever a time to take adavantage of getting a W then here it is.
I’m not saying that we will win, because we all know no win is given for the Nets. Still with the Knicks with a tough schedule, the Bucks being injury prone, the Bobcats losing to better teams again, the Bulls with no chemsistry, and the raptors and pacers still a few games away from catching us, we need this win. Definitely need it.
Thankfully VC is playing, and we’ll need him to take advantage since Redd is out. Thankfully Bogut shouldn’t play, and that gives us even more reason to win this game.
It’ll be wierd seeing Jefferson in a Bucks uniform at the IZOD. I hope he gets a huge standing ovation from the audience, because he was so amazing to this team. I don’t want to go all detailed in his career here in New Jersey, but I wished he could have stayed A net, and it just looks wierd seeing him in a bucks uniform.
Hopefully we can get some revenge for that game, but Simmons can avenge himself for that game against the Bucks.
This game will be huge in terms of attendance(more fans will be there more than usual)standings(if were going into the playoffs we’ve got to get a win against the current 8th seed)and finally because of seeing RJ again.
I can’t wait to watch this game.
Go Nets!

When Kidd came back there was a snow storm. Now RJ is comin back and there is a chance of another big storm hitting the area.
WHAT IS GOIN ON OUT THERE?
i wish RJ nothing but the best. He wanted to be “THe Man” here, well with Kidd and Carter he never was going to be. Now with Redd out he gets to be “the man”. lets see if he can keep them in the playoff picture and make the playoffs

Good thing that Simmons will be out for this game, maybe now RJ will actually have to work for his points.
I think this should be a win, but we’re at home so anything goes

Town hall meeting was ok. I thought it was more informative last year. But last year it was right before the Kidd trade and the team was playing bad and there was a lot more to yell and be angry about.
They had it at the practice facility. It was for season ticket holders and corporate guys.
They had Rod Thorn, Kiki & Yormark there with Chris Karino as the emcee. Rod Thorn addressed the state of the team and talked about the rookies and stuff. Then people went up on stage and asked questions. Most of the questions were pretty much cookie cutter marshmellow questions.
One guy said that Frank needs to go and that we have under-achieved since he took over. He said that none of the young players under him have developed and that he is not an NBA head coach. He said keep him as an assisstant but he needs to be fired. Most of the people applauded at that point. Rod really was not able to answer the question. He beat around the bush and he looked nervous.
Yormark was a jerk, I felt. He really danced around the Brooklyn issue when it was brought up. He gave the corportate yesman responses and made it sound like they are going to break ground in the spring. I do not think that is true and he probably just needs to make the situation sound better then it is because he is the CEO and that is his job.
Someone asked Yormark after the meeting about Newark and he said that they will be playing there next pre-season and that something is in the works and an announcement will be made in the coming weeks. So I will be interested to see if that is true.
They had some nice refreshments. Sandwiches, wraps, cookies, coffee, water, and soda and it was a nice time. What other NBA team does a night like that for their fans? I really do not have much to complain about as a season ticket holder. They treat us well, the incentives are great, the ticket prices are cheap, and they take care of us and listen to what we have to say.
Go Nets!!

Thanks for the info Joe, great post. It’s interesting what you said about Yomark. You confirmed the jerky vibe I was getting from him from all of the articles I have read. It would be great if something is in the works with Newark though.

Yea, Yormark is two-faced in my opinion. He puts out that pledge that he is committed to Nets fans and making the experience a great one. And they do a great job and I give him credit. But a lady brought up a point where they have season tickets downstairs and we all pay a lot of money for our seats, some more then others. And then the Nets go and have these deals for $20 tickets downstairs or even free tickets downstairs as we saw someone post the link on here. And she said that people get frustrated because we are spending all that money for tickets and then these “anybodys” can come right in and sit next to you and are paying significantly less money. And that annoyed people. But we get incentives and advantages as season ticket holders and his response modeled that point. So both made a good point and both were basically correct in their own way.
But Yormark, my dad and I tried to ask him a question after the game and he was just very arrogant. And someone else tried to ask him something as well and he just kind of blew them off. He did not really seem to care about talking to anyone and that was really the point of the evening. So I really think he is a smug arrogant jerk in the way he deals with people.
