Nets Want to Make TWill a Better Pro...and Player

The Nets denied Tuesday's benching of Terrence Williams had anything to do with his Twittering. Instead, they say coaches have a lot more options as more players return. They also want to stem the bad shots and worse defense. No decision has been made about a fine, but Kiki Vandeweghe says more importantly "our job is to help him become a better professional." None of this is helping his rooking ranking.

Well it’s nice to know everything will be fine from now on. LMAO

Mike, I like to think we were part of the backlash that could someday actually make him a better player, person and professional.

Look at our baby boy growing up so fast!

He’s wearing a suit and practicing! We’ve set the bar so high.

He’ll do fine eventually. I’m not gonna write a rookie off after just 5 weeks of NBA experience.

Hollinger has T-Will 35th and LAST among the rookies he ranks. Which seems about right to me.

Another draft another bust. Thank jeebus Brook fell in their laps last year.

Lost in all this is Kiki’s decision to sit Sean Williams down and not move him anywhere near the court. Those who thought Frank was Swat’s bete noire should realize that there are no Swat supporters in NetsLand.

I am trying to recall a rookie doing something this stupid and then becoming a top tier player. I am at a loss.

There might have been a few. But those had special skills to go with just athleticism. Shooting touch, aggressiveness on the boards, defensive quickness, plus real court smarts.

Just look at Beasley, he was caught smoking weed and having females in his room at the rookie gatherings before he even played his first game and had to go to drug rehab over the summer.

Teach him a lesson so he does not take for granted this organization, make him earn everything ….it will pay at the end ,remind him he is going through basic trainning now,
he is just a recruit

Don’t tell me TWill is as just as down right stupid as SWill. TWeedle-dum and SWeedle-dum. Say it ain’t so!

As a young player, T Will should just keep his mouth shut and try to improve his shooting. This is not an attempt to cramp individuality but it is about knowing a person’s role and accepting it. Boy, he has so much to learn!

Coach Frank said that TWill had a high basketball IQ. He understood everything he was asked to do (he just didn’t do it).

Frank never said those things about SWat. SWat just needed a lot of repetition (i.e. he was stupid and had to repeat things to learn.)

Lots of rookies have said stupid things and still have gone on to have successful careers, but only recently has there been this Twitter nonsense to broadcast those thoughts to the public. I wish TWill would just concentrate on defense, rebounding, and taking the ball to the hoop and trying to draw fouls. He has the ability to excel in all three categories, but for some reason, he seems to want to prove that he is a great outside shooter, when he is nothing of the kind. I did not want us to draft TWill, but I have seen the potential he has and he can impact a game even if he never becomes a good shooter. I think he will be OK, he seems to have the work ethic and the drive to improve himself. It may take a few years though.

@ Chris2

Great post, as usual. I also believe TWill will be fine, let’s hope being benched makes him get the message.
