Game 21 - Nets @ Bulls - Tuesday, December 8, 8:00

Everyone knew the first third of the season was going to be rough. Okay, not this rough. After all, 16 of the first 25 games are on the road. That stretch ends next week. Between now and then, the Nets play four of the next five on the road, beginning Tuesday in Chicago. The Bulls have been disappointing, only 7-11, and have been hit with injuries...but they're still at home.

Kiki’s game plan is to speed up the game. He’s going with 5 guards Alson, Harris, CDR, Lee and Dooling. The game should be over about 3 minutes after it starts.

Nope, CDR’s too tall. Gotta play Trenton Hassell.

We are playing 4 on 5. Josh Boone is a 12th man on any other team. He has no game. He can play a little defense and rebound a little. He is someone who WOULD be playing once a week for three minutes on almost any other team. The Knicks zoned us up because nobody had to cover Boone’s area. Who knows when YI will be back, after his latest injury——-50 stitches, courtesy of someone who is even lower on the roster than Boone. Did anyone see footage of the hit Sean put on YI? Did Sean throw a computer at him?

Agreed. WHy is Josh Boone starting? he can’t get revounds, can’t block shots, can’t make shots, can barely make layups! i mean cmon your int he NBA!! I’d rather have sean williams start than josh boone

Since this is a likely loss, will Kiki and Del coach, or are they going to hand it over to Barrise again?
Hollah!

SO far kiki is 1-1… i would say its a bit early 2 throw him under the bus. We have a good chance to win this game. I just hope devin harris goes off, so does brook lopez.

@ Paul Erstein
Boone played a total of 21 minutes (11 at PF, 10 at C) against the Knicks. What happened the other 27 minutes?

btw, the knicks beat the odenless blazers… maybe the fact that we lost to them is not a really bad news..

@the 13yearold diehard nets
Josh Boone is a better basketball player than Sean Williams. It’s hilarious that some people here think that playing Boone is anything close to the problem here, it’s ridiculous, really. And how can you say the guy cant get rebounds? That’s flat out ridiculous. He’s the team leader in rbs per 48 minutes (22nd in the league). The guy you want to start over him (S. Williams) is a mediocre rebounder. As for Boone’s offensive game, yes he’s limited, but lets I cant see how Swat could improve us in that regard either. Josh is shooting .494 from the field, while Swat has shot .436 from the field so far.
I like Swat too, but Boone is the better player. Boone has done a decent job so far this year and is a good player. There are worse players than him making the rotation on better teams.

Per “Nets take latest skid to Chicago”, Don Tomasino, New York Post article, CDR talks about defending Derrick Rose tonite:
“He’s a really, really effective pick-and-roll player,” Douglas-Roberts said. “We can’t let him get in the open court and we can’t let him in our paint. That’s what we have to focus on. We want him to shoot contested jump shots. He can make jump shots, but that’s the best way to defend him.”
CDR might have good points here. He oughta know..

complete loss.
even tho the bulls were held to 77-80 points last game agaisnt the raptors whats preventing then to massacre us ?
100-90
reasonable final score
1-20
Lopez, Harris, CDR dont know what to do without VC
this team with VC could be + .500
in yo face VC haters

We need a 40 point explosion from harris like he did against phoenix last yr….brook should hve no problem droppin 20+ p 10+ r n cdr n lee both need at least 15+ p….dooling played delicious against the knicks- WHY DID KIKI TKE HIM OUT????

Bulls are full of shooters.
Salmons, Rose, deng. brad miller is 7-0 and can shoot for 3
noah rebounds like hell even tho he is 6-10.
we lack of a proven star. Lopez scores but isnt rebounding 10, harris is 16ppg down from 21 last year, CDR has improved but lacks experience and turn the ball over.
1-20
we loose again…

Boone and Swat are both garbage players. Boone doesn’t hurt the team as much because he knows his place. Swat wants to score and just contribute in anyway. Which leads to 15 feet jump hook open shots and silly fouls.
Personally I rather see Swat at least he makes the game a little more exciting.

The breaking point with Sean for me was Dirk Nowitzki turning around after a decent post move to see Sean Williams hanging from the rim.
by Dirt on Dec 8, 2009 12:46 PM EST reply actions
the bulls just have more talent. behind lopez we have battie and swat, who play a combined, like, 12 minutes. boone has no backup. once we get to hassell, simmons, battie, and swat, all guys who are not regular rotation players, we are in trouble. trading alston for a serviceable big would be HUGE.
by Will J on Dec 8, 2009 2:14 PM EST reply actions
@ Dirt
Guys like Hassel and Simmons could have the same breaking point but they can’t reach the rim. The amount of injuries Yi would sustain trying to hang on the rim would be too long to write. TWill would probably dance on it. The list goes on and on…

i hate going back and saying “what if”, but in the 2007 draft we selected a Swat, a guy who had not played basketball for almost a year, over daquan cook, jared dudley, wilson chandler, rudy fernandez, aaron brooks, arron afflalo, carl landry, glen davis, marc gasol, and ramon sessions. There you have it. Until the Lopez year we could not draft our way out of a paper bag.

can’t knock 2006 toooooo much. Marcus Williams looked like a steal, but we left Jordan Farmar and Shannon Brown on the board. I guess we couldn’t have foreseen Paul Millsap (47 pick) being that much better than Josh Boone (23 pick). Oh wait! Yes we could have! Millsap led the NCAA in rebounding for 3 out of his 4 years at college!!! DAMNIT!!
by Will J on Dec 8, 2009 2:23 PM EST reply actions
@Will J
Although Marcus Williams is not a good player if you survey him by now, the Lakers are good at developing the young players, Jordan Farmar and Shannon Brown would be the last off the bench if they are on other teams. Vujacic sucks this season, but he did get time in other seasons.

@ Will J
Battie has been healthy only the last two games. Why he didn’t play against the Knicks is beyond me. I thought he looked pretty good in his first game back. Although I am again baffled why he played only PF and not C.
by pinetar on Dec 8, 2009 7:15 PM EST reply actions
@ Will J – Back then, we still had Jason Kidd. Do you REALLY think Ramon Sessions would have gotten playing time here?
