Bonding Moment or Breaking Point?

Dime's Gerald Narciso writes about the Nets vs. Knicks...not the game, but the future. He believes the Nets are in much better shape than their cross river rivals, noting their bright young core. In a day's wrap-up, another Dime writer suggests the 0-18 start could strengthen as a team and as players, but it could just as easily have a reverse effect. And in a worst case scenario, they wind up in Seattle.

Who knows! It may weaken them. Twill said today on Twitter “Up early to the gym before practice to practice before practice, because NOW practice is my games. Well that’s life.” That sounds like he’s unhappy with his playing time.
Minutes later, he wondered “How would it be if Mr. Stern called my name 10 min earlier #9 or 5 min later #12 hmmmmmmmmm to bad I can’t live off what ifs.” You guys be the judge, but he does not sound like a happy camper.

hey, dime forgot to mention yi as one of the nets’ better young core… :) but serioiusly, yi will be like a super-sub to bosh (who backs him up on the raps? amir johnson and rasho nesterovic) and will give lbj, bosh or anyone on the nets a lot of those chinese ad money…

@ NetsDaily,
Despite my disagreements with you guys on certain things, I just want to let you know I think you guys do bang-up work in keeping us informed on all things Nets. I refresh this site no fewer than 10 times during my workday. Keep up the good work!

Wow. Fantasizing about playing for Toronto or Charlotte? Here’s a better idea: fantasize about making a freakin basket. Both Henderson and DeRozan are playing much better than you and both are getting less playing time. You wouldn’t get off the bench for even thirty seconds for either team unless the bench was on fire.

We’re overloaded at TWill’s (primary) position, and now that guys are getting healthier, it will be tough to find minutes for him. He’s gonna have to weather the storm and try to contribute where he can. I hope he doesn’t get too discouraged, ’cuz I still think he can be a heck of a player in this league.

Way to go out on a limb there Dime Magazine. “This just in… Penny might land heads! …or it might be remembered as the penny that landed tails.”
Insightful.

So T-Will is unhappy. Instead of twittering you should be learning how to shoot. That takes practice, practice and more practice. If you are so unhappy, ask for a trade. LOL

New rule:
T.Williams can only tweet when he shoots above 35%….that way we won’t have to hear from him until next season at the earliest.

T-Will is like a professional race car driver, who doesn’t know how to drive. I would dump his butt as soon as possible.
What we don’t need is another Sean Williams. Another big draft mistake. Thank the lord, that even Nets management, couldn’t of screwed up on selecting Brook Lopez.

Is Seattle even part of the U.S.? Don’t they speak Canadian up there?
by Mike on Dec 7, 2009 2:18 PM EST reply actions
T-Will, who is older than Brook, seems at least 5 years younger in terms of… EVERYTHING. Putting something like that on Twitter shows he has the judgment of a doorknob and an ego considerably out of line with reality.
@ essrog: great post.

can we change that stupid picture as the bright young core?
Only CDR and Lopez have been showing that promise this season. THere’s nothing bright about Harris. Not only will he not top his production last year, the only future he has is “missing 15 games per season”.

No free agent in their right mind is playing in New Jersey over New York. The Nets young core that went 0-18 is better, but there chances of getting a marquee free agent is a lot lower.
Saying that the 0-18 start is in some way a good thing is one of the most retarded things I’ve ever seen.
If you want to bring up the weak publication of Dime, let’s reference ESPN when 9 panelists said that Lebron would come to NY and 2 said hed go to NJ, exact same numbers for Wade, and had the Knicks as the likely definition for Amare and second most likely for Bosh.

T-will’s shot selection is baffling to me. Like in the charlotte game, he was taking jumper after jumper and when he does drive, he goes for floaters. He’s a bad shooter who loves jump shots. He’d be 100x the player he is now if he just tried going to the rim.
by muwu on Dec 7, 2009 2:59 PM EST reply actions
T-will is only 6’5". Another “small player” in Thorns kingdom.
He still is only a rookie. Give him a couple of years, but if someone offered me a number one pick 1-15, I would trade him.
He can’t shoot and his basketball I.Q. seems to be dropping, with every passing game.
by Mike on Dec 7, 2009 3:06 PM EST reply actions
I agree Twill needs to stop shooting. Twill can ruin a nice lead or a nice comeback with his shots selection. He needs to be bench.

TWill needs to play point somewhere… maybe here!
by NetRick on Dec 7, 2009 3:25 PM EST reply actions
I think Kiki’s best move yesterday was to take TWill out of the game in 3rd. I was at the game yesterday, and I actually yelled “don’t shoot!” every time TWill did, and cursed when he missed.

To play point, you need a good head on your shoulders. Enough said…
by Mike on Dec 7, 2009 3:56 PM EST reply actions
We don’t swing the ball well enough, because of selfish PGs like Harris and Alston. THis offense only favors the wing players who can go one on one from scratch, which is why CDR and Harris are the only ones who can thrive in it, and why Lee has been inconsistent and TWill been off rhythm.
by biggie on Dec 7, 2009 4:37 PM EST reply actions
The fact that this team doesn’t swing the ball well enough is why the Knicks beat the brakes off of us yesterday when they slapped the zone.
Devin Harris is pretty worthless. I’d give Dooling most of his minutes because the team runs better when Keyon is in the game BEING A LEADER.
As far as T-Will goes, that kid needs to shut his mouth. He shot 1-18 last night and wants to pout. The fact that he was allowed to shoot 1-18 should be taken as a blessing. I’d nail him to the pine for a few games to teach him some humility because that comment was uncalled for, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I hope someone forwarded that nonsense to the Nets front office. I like the kid but he lost me with that one. Play better and shut your mouth.

@ mills – Actually, a total of only 3 ESPN panelists said he would go ANYWHERE! 1 said he would go to the Nets, 1 to Miami, and 1 to Chicago.
by diehardNFFLbarnone on Dec 7, 2009 7:37 PM EST reply actions
I agree that our PG are not passing and controling the tempo well enough. But if T Will is unhappy about his playing time, that’s just too bad. Before bitching about playing time, he should look at his own game and mistakes and try to improve. He’s getting more than he deserves only because he’s playing for the Nets, 1-18. He will be riding on the bench most of the time if he were on other teams.

CDR is an early Most Improved Player candidate for the Atlantic Divn? Kudos to CDR for earning the mention on a team where his efforts are mainly eclipsed by the losses. Go CDR!!

True. But you know where they would go? Brooklyn. Don’t forget that LeBron and Jay-Z are homies, FWIW.
