NetsDaily Joins SB Nation

We are very happy to announce that NetsDaily is joining the SB Nation network of sports sites. Soon, NetsDaily will get a new look, but the basic format will stay the same. We will still be your most comprehensive and up-to-the-minute source for Nets news, the people behind the site will remain the same, and you will still be able to voice your opinion in the comments or in the forum. There will be some new features and we'll be backed by the most powerful network of sports blogs on the web.

AWESOME!
SBN has an amazing comment system (it may even rival the need for a forum) and is an overall great way to bridge the gap between team, blog, and fans!

Thank you for bringing Nets coverage into the 21st century….

To further clarify, in addition to the commenting system that allows real-time (makes game threads soo much easier) commenting and up-ranking, it also has a “fan post” and “fan shot” system where users can write their own blog posts that other users comment on.
It has a slight learning curve, but this is a great direction for Netsdaily. I was wondering when SBN was going to get a Nets blog, and ND is a perfect fit.

This site is the best, not surprising they wanted a piece of it. Congrads.

Thank you guys, whoever is running this site. We get all the Nets news here and have a place get anger out of our system after watching Nets games. Great work.

I can only assume this is a move to save money, not to serve us fans better. I smell The Rat here. Cheap!

man sbnation looks complicated…peoples’ comments are all over the place…doesnt seem organized.

Thanks to all who run NetsDaily, and congratulations on what seems to be well-deserved recognition of your excellent work.

Congrats !
This site really is the best for all the news around our favorite Team, it’s the first to open after turning the PC on and it even tops njnets.com at a high rate, which isnt that complicated^^
Keep up the good work, guys !
I’m representing all the Germany Nets-fans with that post.
Go Nets !

Why “congrats”? I assume this is a good thing because ND thinks so and ND is THE man. But I don’t know why. My automotive fan site was bought up by a large internet corporation and went to the dogs. Please help me out here. What will be better about it, for ND and/or for the fans? What’s the down side?

I remember this website “NetsDaily” as a nice little “secret bar/cafe”.
Now it’s becoming Wal-Marts.
Everything changes in life.
I hate change.
Good luck ND + NI, you deserve it…

Netsdaily is the best…why change what is perfect?
Oh well…Nets nation will still be delivered to us…

The SB Nation website does NOT load properly for me here at work (which is where 90% of my ND useage probably comes from)… hope when ND is up and running there it looks better.

I’m with Mike. You guys do a great job and I hate change. But I trust your judgment as this is one of my favorite websites. Good luck with the change over.

I can promise you guys that SB Nation is all about making sure that fan communication is optimized. I started the company myself six years ago and even though we have 230 sites now, we keep that same spirit of independence. My goal has always been simple, to bring professional quality coverage keeping it from a fan perspective to serve someone like myself, who is a huge fanatic of the Oakland A’s and wasn’t adequately being served by the media. We’re thrilled to have ND as a part of our network and hope you guys enjoy some of the other great sites we have that were built in the same spirit as ND.
In short, welcome to the family.

im confused about this…is netsdaily.com still going to exist? or do we need to go on sbnation.com/nba/teams/njn?

I’d also like to welcome the ND community to SB Nation.
I lead the product/technology team and we work hard to make sure all the communities in our network are working properly. We’re already hosting ND on our servers, but in the future ND will be migrated into our platform as well. If you ever have any problems with any SB Nation site, you can do one of two things:
1) Simply email us: support@sbnation.com
or
2) Use our contact form: http://www.sbnation.com/pages/contact
We have support folks dedicated to making sure you’re able to get your news and talk about it 24/7
Tom, you mentioned that you have trouble viewing SB Nation sites from work – please send us a report so we can attempt to fix that for you.

Andy, the site will still be at NetsDaily.com. But it will have the SB Nation bar across the top (like you see at CelticsBlog.com), which allows you to move around the rest of the network.

@NetsDaily
So does this mean it will have little impact to people who like the current NetsDaily, but that more basketball fans will be coming to this site because it will be part of a larger network?
Maybe people like Marv Albert would start to read NetsDaily, because he sure knows less than we do about the Nets.
by jerry25 on Jan 1, 2010 8:54 AM EST reply actions
Correct, it will have little impact on how you use NetsDaily. You will still get the latest news and links on the home page in basically the same format that they are now. You will just need an SB Nation account to comment.
