Ettore Messina is back in the news. The former head coach at CSKA Moscow, now at Real Madrid, could be Lawrence Frank's permanent replacement, SNY reports. He's certainly popular with Mikhail Prokhorov, having won two Euroleague titles at CSKA. And Kiki Vandeweghe liked him last season. But Messina himself thinks any European coach would have to serve an NBA apprenticeship as an assistant.
