Game 19 - Bobcats @ Nets - Friday, December 4, 8:00

Once again, into the breach, this time with Kiki. The Nets begin a five game stretch against teams with losing records Friday as they try to win a basketball game. It's something they haven't done since April 19. The Bobcats have played well of late, forgetting their 20-point loss to Boston. Overall, they're 7-10, only 1-7 on the road. Meanwhile, pundits are pointing to the next mark of NBA futility, 23 straight losses.

I wanna say this will be the first win but check this….

We won’t win until YI JIANLIAN comes back. believe it or not he is important to this team…. gives us size and at the same time spreads the floor…

With that said i think sunday will be the first win if he plays!

by JayMS on Dec 3, 2009 5:42 PM EST reply actions

@ JayMS – I think the final score will be 155-101 Nets:

Devin Harris – 45 points, 11 assists, 5 steals
Courtney Lee – 35 points, 8 assists, 7 steals
Terrence Williams – 20 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals
Sean Williams – 20 points, 18 rebounds, 7 blocks, 4 steals
Brook Lopez – 20 points, 15 rebounds, 6 blocks, 6 steals
Chris Douglas-Roberts – 15 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists, 4 steals

If we don’t win this one….. wow. they are 1 – 7 on the road. we have a new regime. No excuses. Yi is not that important JayMS. They actually played much better after he went out b/c their d picked up and their offense was more fluid. He is a black hole. they have too many black holes. He is an anchor on the team, as in weighing them down.

by geo on Dec 3, 2009 6:15 PM EST reply actions

JayMS is right, no matter what the Yi haters say. One of the 2 games we really had a better chance to win all season long so far was actually thanks to him, when he went wild against the TWolves. Come back soon Yi, we’re missing you!

LOL you are really funny

What will Kiki do, I wonder? I believe his basketball sense will have better timing of fielding Harris, Lee or CDR to be more productive than Frank. Matchup might be another thing but if he keeps the offense going we will be alright specially against Brown coaching style.
This is how I feel the matching be done
 Terrence vs Wallace
 Brooks vs Chandler
 Harris vs Felton
 Lee vs Jackson
 Sean against Diaw

I would go with Lee , CDR seems too eager and many times he doesn’t read the defense because he is crouching too much.

by JuliusIrving on Dec 4, 2009 12:16 AM EST reply actions

We had these guys beat early in the year and blew it.

by Kevin on Dec 4, 2009 3:19 AM EST reply actions

I think at some point. Kiki will ask CDR to come off the bench. Harris and him need the ball too much and we need an instant scorer off the bench. Twill is more suited to start at sf because he is a passer supposedly and our defense will be better no offense to CDR.

by ben on Dec 4, 2009 5:23 AM EST reply actions

If anyone requests CDR to be benched for the Twill guy, ill be really angry

CDR: 17-5-1 1 steal. 36 mpg

Twill: 10-5-2 0.6 steal. 26 mpg

twill turns the ball over like there is no tomorrow and makes too many mistakes, still comment posters request to bench our future star.

omG

@ ben :D dude plz stop posting :D

CD-R is a starter, period.

by Andrés on Dec 4, 2009 7:49 AM EST reply actions

So ive heard this Harris and CDR cant be on the court at the same time game after game and yet not one person has provided any kind of proof of this other then “they just cant.”

They play fine together, the problem is Harris isnt playing well. Just a heads up look at when the majority of CDR’s shots start coming. HE doesnt take many shots to begin the game and then as we blow the game and find ourselves down by 15 CDR starts to shoot more because no one else is hitting ANYTHING.

by Boomdog on Dec 4, 2009 8:40 AM EST reply actions

I don’t think the question is IF CDR should start, it’s at what position. I’m leaning towards the SG position but it keeps Lee on the bench. With the team averaging a league worst 86.6 ppg we need shooting and with more PT Lee could deliver. I can’t bear to see Hassel at the SF either. I like TWill but he can’t shoot. If you put CDR at SF then we’re as CDR would say “soft”. At this time I’d go with TWill, CDR and Harris until Lee improves his 34% shooting. At least TWill gives us everything else.

by Mr. Big on Dec 4, 2009 9:06 AM EST reply actions

@ mr. omG – Why do you think Chris Douglas-Roberts should start?

by diehardNFFLbarnone on Dec 4, 2009 9:14 AM EST reply actions

Harris and cdr can’t play together? So lebron and shaq, two stars who command the offense can’t play together either? O and parker and ginobli too I guess since both need the ball so much? Smh- cdr and harris are our best guards- starters start becuase they’re the best case closed. And twill DUNK ON SOMEBODY PLEASEEE igoudala baptized you twice

by big daddy phil on Dec 4, 2009 10:03 AM EST reply actions

@ big daddy phil…

T-Will took his time getting down the court for that dunk against Dallas the other night. He was trying to dunk on someone but no one stepped up for the christening.

by Dirt on Dec 4, 2009 10:11 AM EST reply actions

I don’t understand how shooting 100 FTs makes basketball fun again. This team is not fast enough to run, besides for DH and their rebounding is too poor to trigger fast breaks. Unfortunately, what LFrank did in slowing the game down is the only way this team has a chance to win. It cuts down on the mistakes and puts you in a position to get lucky at the end.

Tonight, I think Larry Brown will coach rings around Kiki. Since SJax went to the Bobcats their shooting % has gone way up. Probably their D is a lot worse but that is never an opponent’s concern playing the Nets, since the Nets can’t make perimeter shots even when they’re open so it’s simple to play D – just sag on the penetration and on Lopez and

@ diehard

omG dude. i just cant believe you havent seen the proofs.

10 reasons to start CDR over twill:

1 CDR scores +20, most of the nights and Twill doesnt.

2 CDR is taller and weight less = faster

3 CDR has better FT and FG than Twill

4 CDR turns the ball over less than Twill

5 CDR (96-213) has connected more FGs than Twill (71-198)

6 CDR (7-16) has connected far more 3ps than twill (14-47)

7 CDR has more xp (only 1 year, but that makes the diference)

8 CDR’s lips are far more thin than twill’s

9 CDR is our best offensive end besides brook

10 CDR is more fans favorite than Twill

Bobcats to hammer us Hard.

CDR to request trade in order to let twill start for diehard.

ahahhahhahahahaha :D :D :D

1) T-Will wears space age spandex over more random parts of his body during games

2) T-Will has his PHD Dunkenomics

3) T-Will is bio mechanically engineered by NASA

4) T-Will has nothing to hide with tape on his arms

by Dirt on Dec 4, 2009 1:12 PM EST reply actions

As far as being a “more fans favorite”. I’m sorry, I don’t speak broken English.

by Dirt on Dec 4, 2009 1:14 PM EST reply actions

I don’t like CDR at the SF spot

by Mr. Dollar Bills on Dec 4, 2009 1:16 PM EST reply actions

CDR has to learn to pass the ball more, 1apg is not enough for a guard. at least 3

by jarkid on Dec 4, 2009 1:29 PM EST reply actions

Assists come when you have players that can finish and shoot. No matter how many good passes you make if Boone, Swat, Hassell, Twill, Simmons, Clee and any of the other players on the team can’t finish then you don’t get the assist. Which is why Alston, CDR, Brook and Devin end up trying to do too much because they know the talent level of the other guys on the floor. Not being able to defend or shoot is a sure recipe for disaster..

by supreme on Dec 4, 2009 2:14 PM EST reply actions

@ mr. omG – The Suns dropped 110 points on the Celtics, so anything is possible.
