Change Is In the Air...But What Kind?

Optimism is stirring in the Nets locker room. The long goodbye for Lawrence Frank is mercifully over. Meanwhile a few hellos might soon be heard. Keyon Dooling and even Yi Jianlian say they're playing Friday, but no one has told Tim Walsh. How effective they would be is another thing. Courtney Lee is still out of shape. Meanwhile, Marc Cuban has nice things to say about Dallas North, uh, we mean the Nets.

This clown, Tom Barrise, should be the next one out the door. He is using the same starting lineup, with Hassel starting once again. What a joke. He defends Larry Frank and basically is saying that Kiki and Del Harris won’t make a difference. Maybe he’s right but I would fire his butt before tonights game. He just does not get it, just like his buddy Frank didn’t get it.

^^blame Kiki for being a coward and not taking this 18th loss like a man. He should be taking the reigns TONIGHT.
You want to get your system in place NOW, not wait until the team is further demoralized. this is disgraceful.
Good to see Yi and Keyon back.

Looks like a lot of Nets players were not that eager to play for Frank. I wonder why. Seems like everybody will be healthy by game time Friday. LOL.

Are Yi and Dooling playing tonight or Friday like it says in the caption?

No, they projected coming back two weeks ago. The only coincidence is that Kiki is waiting for this moment to come back. Mr DB is right. Kiki should take the loss not pin it on Barrise. Barise makes a fraction of what Kiki makes. Why should he have to take this indignity? Kiki can’t step in because it’s too far to travel to the bench from upstairs? What kind of garbage is that. Barisse is right to start Hassel and Boone. They have worked their butts off and deserve it. Loyalty is important – not to Kiki. I hope he and Yi ride off into the sunset together at year’s end. I am just amazed how we talk about Yi’s giant steps. How ridiculous to say he came in with confidence. Yeah, but his play stunk.

He was talking about Yi during the pre-season.

Yi was playing a lot more inside the paint and trying to attack a lot more than he ever has, even though he wasn’t successful. I’m not sure about the “Giant steps” part, but Yi has shown improvement. Obviously though, with the Nets losing big time we want the improvement to equal WINS and domination.
Of course Kiki is gonna try to hype up his boy Yi. He’s not like Phil Jackson, who plays mind games or Stan Van Gundy who says whatever he thinks. It’s quite obvious the Nets are banking on Yi to live up to his hype and Kiki wants to save his own ass, so they’re not going to openly criticize his game.
