Game 28 - Lakers @ Nets - Saturday, December 19, 8:00

The Weather Channel is forecasting heavy snow Saturday night around game time. Maybe the Lakers bus will get lost in a snow bank! Maybe there'll be a whiteout or brownout or blackout or any color out, any out at all. The Nets will play for the fifth time in seven days and against Kobe Bryant! Find your reversible jersey. It'll make a fashion statement and go nicely with your paper bag head gear.

yeah….this should be real fun to watch….after the Raptors literally destroyed them. I think Kobe will only play two quarters and will not have to return after halftime…because they will already have a 70 pt lead at half.

I have tickets to this game.

I plan to brave the snow… if only for the faint hope that the arena will be so empty, they’ll give automatic lower bowl upgrades.

hey it worked for the Bucks vs Nets a few years ago in the blizzard (2006). But this is the Lakers and the Laker fans always show up in droves.

I’ll post up pictures and provide a link for everyone!

Great opener to the story I must admit.

by kg on Dec 19, 2009 12:28 AM EST reply actions

well I bought mine four months ago so I didn’t expect the snow.

but seeing as how the Nets are terrible, I fully expect to see Kobe play 20 minutes, and I want to see the rest of the time Walton getting 4 rebounds, Vujacic smelling the floor, and Pau Gasol grabbing 20 rebounds.

and no I’m no Net defector, I am just the Brett Yormark type of fan.

just kidding, i’ll just go and cheer the Nets on like crazy even in defeat.

by rightclue on Dec 19, 2009 12:43 AM EST reply actions

There’s a problem with the broadcasts on YESHD. The commercials are WAY louder than the game broadcasts. Every time there’s a commercial break, you have to lunge for the volume. I have it on Time Warner Cablevision anyway. It really needs to be evened out to make it less annoying watching the program?
Is there any way to complain about this through official channels?

Whos the matchup tonight? Lee and Kobe? Really now?

by Kupalski on Dec 19, 2009 8:34 AM EST reply actions

I was looking forward to watching the Lakers since the Nets are now unwatchable. Even when I am at the Izod, it is hard to actually watch. Thanks, Ratner. BTW, instead of fighting the elements, maybe the Lakers could send a substitute team to play. Didn’t the Raptors send some team called the Huskies last night?

by Ispartan on Dec 19, 2009 9:53 AM EST reply actions

This just in: tonight’s game has been forfeited by the Nets because they sent their entire roster to the DLeague.

130-85

in yo face VC haters!

why didnt we builded around VC ?

he still have some good years left, why not to give him a teammate strong enough to lead the Nets back to the finals ?

because we wanted to dump Cap, now with this record even our rookie picks will think it twice to sign with us

:D :D :D

Even if the Laker’s Bus get’s stuck somewhere in the snow we will probably still lose the game…..Like every other game we will beat ourselves due to lack of effort…..

by NetFan48 on Dec 19, 2009 11:06 AM EST reply actions

I don’t think I can watch this one.

by Mr. Dollar Bills on Dec 19, 2009 11:26 AM EST reply actions

I’ll be at the game, it’ll probably be so dead we could all sit courtside and those seats still wouldnt be filled, haha.

by Aaron on Dec 19, 2009 11:43 AM EST reply actions

Well, there were lots of Laker fans at the game last year, entire families decked out in gold gear, as a result of those fans this should have been the Nets biggest money maker of the year, I wonder if they bought tickets? Maybe this is Yormark’s karma for those reversible jerseys?

by Ispartan on Dec 19, 2009 1:05 PM EST reply actions

Looking forward to the return of two established NBA players—-Hayes and Dooling. Thorn was right when he said the team is losing the same way most games—- 4 minute lulls in scoring twice a game. Of course he didn’t mention that the defense is horrid and getting worse by the game. If you can’t score at least try to stop your opponent once in a while. ANyway I think when Hayes and Dooling are back in game shape and playing 20-25 min per, we’ll have some leadership and guidance for the younger players and better balance at both ends of the court…maybe not winning but at least competitive BB.

As long as Lee, and Harris keep aiming to hit the rim with their jumpshots we will keep losing.
