Game 6 - Nets @ 76ers - Friday, November 6, 7:00

The Nets travel to Philadelphia Friday but they will be traveling light. Six Nets are in the sick bay: Keyon Dooling (hip); Tony Battie (knee); Jarvis Hayes (hamstring); Devin Hayes (groin); Yi Jianlian (knee) and Chris Douglas-Roberts (flu). We hope Sly has medical insurance. The Sixers, coached by former Nets assistant Eddie Jordan, are 2-2 and are led by Elton Brand, who knows something about injuries.

Have we lost yet?

0 – 6

by SayBye2Yi on Nov 5, 2009 7:31 PM EST reply actions

Call me crazy, but I feel a win. Even though Brook needs Devin, I think he will be able to squeeze at least one good game without him, and this is the team to do it against.

by Tim on Nov 5, 2009 7:36 PM EST reply actions

At this point id rather have this team losing and locking up a high draft pick and then next summer we can go shopping for bron bron and bosh imagine if we got those two!!!
 PG-Harris
SG- Lee or CDR
SF- Lebron
PF-BOsh
C-PEZ

Bench: yi, lee, or cdr, terrence williams, etc. that would be sickkkk

Lets win this one!

by JustinNJ on Nov 5, 2009 8:15 PM EST reply actions

0-6 no doubt. Iguodala with 35 points.

by jarkid on Nov 5, 2009 8:15 PM EST reply actions

Tommrow we might have the worst starting 5 in NBA history

by Randy Oreens on Nov 5, 2009 8:27 PM EST reply actions

twill at sf!

by Andy on Nov 5, 2009 8:35 PM EST reply actions

I think frank should suit up…Then we will be playing Real small Ball….Actually , I am beyond frustrated w/ frank and the NET’S Mgmt for keeping him….I just cannot comprehend Why , Why any team would keep him as the coach this long …????

by NetFan48 on Nov 5, 2009 9:15 PM EST reply actions

We have 6 rotation players out and people want Frank out of here? How is he suppose to win with what he has? I mean its ok if we had a full team, but half our team is out. Kinda harsh to me.

by kevin on Nov 5, 2009 9:17 PM EST reply actions

@ VC3

Yes! LLLLLL Frank

by pinetar on Nov 5, 2009 9:21 PM EST reply actions

The flu is very contagious, the rest of the team is probably already infected. If you are going to the game Saturday, wear your Nets gear, you might get to play.

by Ispartan on Nov 5, 2009 9:40 PM EST reply actions

Look at the Bulls. Taj Gibson is getting the nods over Brad Miller and Tyrus Thomas. Why? He earned it. There is absolutely no reason why Courtney Lee should’ve granted the right to start. That’s why Frank is a bad coach; the reward and punishment system has gotta be more consistent.

by biggie on Nov 5, 2009 10:02 PM EST reply actions

I am still worried that the Nets dont want to fire Frank because they don’t want to pay another salary in a lost season.

Myself I don’t even know what I want. I would like to see the Nets win already but at the same time I am not really paying attention anymore and would like the nets to have 250 combos when we go to the lottery……

by Mike L on Nov 5, 2009 10:06 PM EST reply actions

Why do we have to be the only team in the NBA without a victory yet?

by Andrew on Nov 5, 2009 10:30 PM EST reply actions

0-5…i can take this as long as we get a top 3 pick in the draft to have a shot at wall or favors.

by Andy on Nov 5, 2009 10:45 PM EST reply actions

@ andrew

Cuz we probably suck ????

and we have Harris, dooling, jayes, yi and now CDR out with injuries of all types

by mr. omG on Nov 5, 2009 10:46 PM EST reply actions

who are we going to play that at least get some scoring ?

Lopez
Boone
Twill
Lee
Alston

Swat
Najera
Simmons (omG with this one)
Hassell (i mean, we need someone)
???

We are screwed anyway!!!

0-6 and counting. 0-82 here we go!

by mr. omG on Nov 5, 2009 10:55 PM EST reply actions

but luckily i can bet my money safe on 76ers since they will own the nets with a margin over 15.

Final score 125-79

by mr. omG on Nov 5, 2009 11:05 PM EST reply actions

Devin Harris-PG
Courtney Lee-SG
LeBron James-SF
Chris Bosh-PF
Brook Lopez-C

J.J. Barea backup PG
CDR / TWill backing up SG/SF
Motiejunas / Yi backing up PF
Dooling/Hayes offensive threats off the bench
Harpring/Salmons “bench scrubs”
Okur – backup Center

Not enough cash to do all this? Drop Bosh and do something w/ the Yi/Okur/Motiejunas combination.

That team has teh chance to put up many championships

by DREAM TEAM on Nov 5, 2009 11:46 PM EST reply actions

@ mr. omG…switch Najera annd Boone…

Lopez Boone
Najera Swat
Twill Simmons
Lee Hassel
Alston

Oh….wait…..that still horrific. A bloodbath.

by Oh Really? Yes...Really! on Nov 5, 2009 11:48 PM EST reply actions

wow u know what i just noticed. we are officialy worst team in nba. we r only team without win….. nets suck and we need to get healthy, maybe espn writers were right

by matt on Nov 6, 2009 1:02 AM EST reply actions

Kevin, with all due respect, i think you should stop with the excuses for Frank. I mean…you make it sound like this is the first time he was not able to have a winning season.

Hey, will you come out and talk about how wrong you were when our players return and you continue to see loses?

by KJV on Nov 6, 2009 1:08 AM EST reply actions

@KJV

you are 100% right.

by jarkid on Nov 6, 2009 3:32 AM EST reply actions

Both NETS and FANS like to live in the dream, Somnambulism:

Devin Harris-PG
Courtney Lee-SG
LeBron James-SF
Chris Bosh-PF
Brook Lopez-C

If NETS keep playing like this, no players dare to join NETS. Probably DH and BL prefer to escape from NETS: a no motivation group (NOT team), a Group playing for lost purposely.

by fplc on Nov 6, 2009 5:40 AM EST reply actions

CDR is out???

27 point loss at best

and LMAO!!! @ Bosh or Lebron joining a team that may only win 16 games!!!!

This plan has blown up in the Nets faces!!! Even if Brooklyn goes through, the Nets will not land any big name FA’s

the dream is dead, the plan is a failure.

by Mr. Dollar Bills on Nov 6, 2009 8:16 AM EST reply actions

The Nets need to make some trades now before its too late or sign some undrafted free agents with potential….they’ll play with some fire and desire not like freakin lee going 0-7 in the 1Q smh….last year the warriors offered us marco belinelli- THE ITALIAN SHARPSHOOTER for josh boone. And we said no. Thnk you kiki.

by big daddy phil on Nov 6, 2009 9:47 AM EST reply actions

@KJV and jarkid

you are all right about Frank – it’s just that you MUST criticize players as well for lack of results. Acting like Phil Jackson (who’s never coached a bunch of has-beens, never-will-be(s), and we hope will-be(s)) would make this roster a playoff team is hilarious. Yeah Frank is a bad coach, he’ll be gone soon enough. What about talent on the roster instead of infatuations with whoever wears the uni?? You better get some of that in here, no matter who the coach is. An already known good coach would not step foot onto this team – because the lack of talent would ruin their career. By the way who will the coach be?

by Oh Really??..Yes, Really!! on Nov 6, 2009 10:02 AM EST reply actions

If and when Proky gets ownership of the team, you will not have to worry about getting a coach. Money talks and big money shouts. As for talent, we have very talented players. Don’t let the rough start from Lopez, Lee, and injuries to Harris and Yi fool you. These four players plus CDR and T-Will
are a very nice core to build around. Plus the draft picks and FA agent options. Nothing but blue sky ahead…

by Mike on Nov 6, 2009 10:23 AM EST reply actions

@ Oh Really??
Listen, really? Oh really? L Frank had Carter, Kidd, and Jefferson. What did he win with them? 34 games. 34 games.

by KJV on Nov 6, 2009 10:23 AM EST reply actions

You have to admit, it is tough to take your eyes off this train wreck. Are Nets doing this on purpose to get the 2010 #1. They don’t have to try this hard. Is there a special exception in the lottery for teams that lose 82. Does it get us extra ping pong balls?
What about Celtics on Sat? Most lopsided game in NBA history? Will Celtics get 125? Will Nets get 50?

by netsnuts on Nov 6, 2009 11:51 AM EST reply actions

The Celtics held the Bobcats to 59 points.
The Bobcats held the Nets to 68 points.

It is possible that Saturday’s game WILL be the most lopsided game in NBA history. We MIGHT not break 50 points. The final score could very well be 116-47.

13 points in the first quarter
8 points in the second quarter
12 points in the third quarter
14 points in the 4th quarter

by Jim on Nov 6, 2009 12:43 PM EST reply actions

sigh 0-6 0-6 0-6 0-6 0-6

and at season’s end 0-82

btw I read that franks wont leave soon, so said thorn, we are screwed up hard

by mr. omG on Nov 6, 2009 1:23 PM EST reply actions

OMG, Opie is starting Hassell instead of TWill! Fire Frank already!

by Andrés on Nov 6, 2009 7:01 PM EST reply actions

Ive been a Frank supporter but starting hassel is ridiculous. I understand Twill is now the backup pg but seriously, play your best players. This is ridiculous. Frie Frank already.

by austin on Nov 6, 2009 7:10 PM EST reply actions

josh boone just made two midrange jumpshots in the first quarter! Niiiiice.

by jose_rizal on Nov 6, 2009 7:27 PM EST reply actions

Josh should start, it’s a good thing that Najera got in foul trouble early in the game.

by Andrés on Nov 6, 2009 7:28 PM EST reply actions

iguodala hammered a dunk over twill. that was sick.

by jose_rizal on Nov 6, 2009 8:09 PM EST reply actions

Im tired of seeing simmons and najara out there. I’m starting to feel some hatred towards Frank!

by Andy on Nov 6, 2009 8:16 PM EST reply actions

oh god here we go… it’s halftime, a close game… i think we know what’s next.

by jose_rizal on Nov 6, 2009 8:20 PM EST reply actions

we’re actually doing pretty good for now

by Andrew on Nov 6, 2009 8:44 PM EST reply actions

Without CDR, the team play better. Lopez can get more ball. Keep on teamwork. GO NETS!!!!

by petersages on Nov 6, 2009 8:46 PM EST reply actions

someone PLEASE guard Kapono

by jose_rizal on Nov 6, 2009 9:08 PM EST reply actions
