Game 17 - Nets @ Lakers - Sunday, November 29, 9:30

As the Nets stare deep into the abyss Sunday night, there smiling right back at them will be Kobe Bryant. With one chance to avoid an 0-17 start and history, the Nets go up against the world champs. Of course, the Lakers can be beaten. The question is whether the Nets can do it. LA is 12-3 and has won five straight. Meanwhile, reports fly that this is Lawrence Frank's last game.

At this point what do we have to loose other than games and our head coach.

This will be hilarious.

@ superb
if we will this game I’ll buy You season tickets for next year.

if we win this game

by Dan the Fan on Nov 28, 2009 7:20 PM EST reply actions

We won’t win so lets talk about something else…

Would it be fair to bench CDR for C Lee at this point? Other than Brook, CDR has been our best player.

by NetRick on Nov 28, 2009 7:53 PM EST reply actions

Harris is the guy that worries me. Lopez and cdr are good. Harris back in all-star form is a nice core with the high draft pick.

Still not sold on Twil or Lee instead of Tyler or Ryan.

Please fire Frank already.

i wonder what promotion Yormark is planning for the historic Dallas game on Wed. he’ll probably headline it as:
Come watch your Nets make NBA history!
See what no other team has been able to accomplish!

by JohnY on Nov 28, 2009 8:09 PM EST reply actions

Yormark would do well with a good team. He actually does as good a job as possible.

by David on Nov 28, 2009 8:23 PM EST reply actions

LOL
I can see the free Jerseys now.
Mavericks on the Front Nets on the Back.
With a Barclay’s Logo and the shoulder.

I have a feeling that nets are going to lose.

by Andy on Nov 28, 2009 8:32 PM EST reply actions

LF “Give me a Break” Only reason he is still coach is Rod. Rod put this puzzle together and the pieces don’t fit. Terrible trades. Jefferson for Yi? VC and Ryan Anderson for Courtney Lee??? What a mess. Again the only free agents the Nets will get next year will be a couple of max season ticket holders

by GSHOCK on Nov 28, 2009 8:41 PM EST reply actions

@ GSHOCK – Why are you even still posting on here if you feel that way about the Nets?

by diehardNFFLbarnone on Nov 28, 2009 8:44 PM EST reply actions

A true Nets fan who cares about this franchise has EVERY reason to be upset with how mgmt has systematically dismantled this team brick by brick the past few years.

by JohnY on Nov 28, 2009 9:23 PM EST reply actions

I don’t see Thorn sticking around much longer. Kiki will supplant him and then Proki will bring in his own coaching staff. AK 47 will be in Brooklyn with the team so long as Proki pays him enough. The starting five on opening night in Brooklyn will be Lopez, AK 47, CDR, Lee and Wall.

by obmb on Nov 28, 2009 9:53 PM EST reply actions

VIt would be something special if the Nets won tomorrow
I just want to see Lopez v bynum and CDR v Kobe

by djheavyduty on Nov 28, 2009 10:00 PM EST reply actions

^it would be great to see teh matchup but the problem is that CDR gets no respect from the officials and the officials defer to Bryant. CDR is going to spend much of his time on the bench if Bryant goes after him. The refs always give him the calls.

by obmb on Nov 28, 2009 10:04 PM EST reply actions

@Obmb
I dont think Harris gets traded its rather strange to believe or want this..hes an allstar and i dont have the faith in Wall to run a team as a rookie
What are th chances Harris gets traded this or next season? Everyone seems to belive hes gone but why? hes an allstar PG and trading him starts tearing apart the potential in the rebuilding phase, thus starting a new stupider rebuilding phase.

by the 13yearold diehard nets fan on Nov 28, 2009 10:15 PM EST reply actions

harris is injury prone and has not shown the ability to make his teammates better. what is the option if you get wall? hold onto him and see, as between harris and wall, which one is better? i suppose you can do that but are they going to want to sit with so much money devoted to one position (walls guaranteed and harris’ money) when they will need to pony up to keep Lopez in a bit? I don’t know.

Record Book, here we come!

by Paul Erstein on Nov 28, 2009 10:28 PM EST reply actions

What if the Nets win the lottery,

should they draft John Wall or Derrick Fevors?

by jarkid on Nov 28, 2009 10:29 PM EST reply actions

wall because favors isn’t putting crazy numbers as of now.

al farouq aminu and evan turner are putting up crazy numbers both who are SF…

jarvis vernado a PF…in 2 games…21 ppg..11.5 rpg…7.5 rpg.

by Andy on Nov 28, 2009 10:56 PM EST reply actions

if we have John Wall, I think this team will trade Harris…

by jarkid on Nov 28, 2009 11:23 PM EST reply actions

I think we should try and trade harris anyways for the rights to Ricky Rubio…Possibly a three team deal ?…How tall is Wall anyway…?…I think that Harris is going to have a Soap Opera career here between his injuries and playing hard when he wants to,etc….

by NetFan48 on Nov 28, 2009 11:47 PM EST reply actions

@NetFan48

no matter what, he is our pg now, just get over with it..

by jarkid on Nov 29, 2009 1:02 AM EST reply actions

In comes jarkid with the common sense! Nice.

Until the ownership situation is resolved, no moves are happening (unless our whole roster gets injured, knock on wood).

So…might as well get used to it for now.

by ppoppa on Nov 29, 2009 1:43 AM EST reply actions

I think we should bring back Duncan, Sly is just not hearing L Frank anymore.

by NiceBull on Nov 29, 2009 3:07 AM EST reply actions

let’s be honest here: Devin Harris is a FORMER all-star. he’s not an all star this year and unlikely in foreseeable future.

by JohnY on Nov 29, 2009 3:13 AM EST reply actions

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A … &type=lgns

Sources say management has decided to axe Frank win or loss on Sunday once the team gets back to NJ…YES!

by NateDD on Nov 29, 2009 4:03 AM EST reply actions

Harris won’t play for Frank..that is clear. It goes back to the benching last year. The odds are we get the 2 or 3 pick…not the one. So most likely we draft Favors/Davis/Montejanes/Monroe.

Harris stays and with anew coach flourishes. The free agent money goes to whomever wants to come here. If not LeBron, they will throw it at Wade, Bosh, Amare. Then they will throw it at second tiers Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer, Rudy Gay (restricted). SOMEONE will take this money. And with a star in Lopez as well as CDR and a supporting cast of Lee, Yi, TWill, plus a couple of draft picks this team has huge upside….go 0 and 82 NETS!

by supernetsfan on Nov 29, 2009 5:16 AM EST reply actions

If the nets can sign Carlos Boozer or Chris Bosh, you draft wall. if not ,the pick has to be favors or Monroe.

If you sign a markee PF then you try to trade Harris for a SF.

by Zartan on Nov 29, 2009 6:34 AM EST reply actions

Thanks for the glimmer of hope natedd
You can tell this team is tired of LFrank
Wit 1.1 seconds left before halftime twill didn’t take a halfcourt shot
I think the players realized that LFrank isn’t a good coach and stopped listening

by djheavyduty on Nov 29, 2009 7:36 AM EST reply actions

its it really strange that the media would announce such a thing right before tonights game…

by Andy on Nov 29, 2009 7:55 AM EST reply actions

hey net income get the news out there…that thread is going to get ALOT of posts…

by Andy on Nov 29, 2009 7:56 AM EST reply actions
