Kiki's Been Through It Before

In 2001-02, Kiki Vandeweghe was the Nuggets' GM when they won 27 games despite having some good young players. So Denver decided to rebuild, winning 17 the next season but winding up with the third pick in the Draft. They chose Carmelo Anthony and got to the playoffs. The next summer, he signed Kenyon Martin. But just because he's been through it before "doesn't make it any easier," says the Nets' GM.

I think Kiki will take over this team once Opie is fired.

I wouldn’t say a lot of good young talent. Those Nugget teams did have much outside of the big 3 of McDyess,Van Exel, & LaFrentz with Posey coming off the bench. Then the beginning of 02-03 Posey was thought to be the man before he got dealt to Houston. After that it became obivous they were tanking for 2003 when they got Melo & Andre Miller. I don’t think it’s the same cup of tea now.

Kiki Vandeweghe uses past losing experience to help battle through Nets’ winless season -

That is a sad headline to have associated with your name.

carlos boozer is playing very well..maybe an option next season?

Too bad he didn’t remember his experience before he helped Thorn set this pathetic roster. I feel sorry for CDR. TWill & Brook. I think Yi and all the others are basically hopeless and as for Harris, he thinks he is better than he is. He’s not a leader or a true point guard. He does not make his other team mates on the floor better. This is truly sad. Hard to watch.

Hey Kiki… thanks for nothing! LBJ ain’t coming here. Nor is any other free agent as long as the Rat is associated with the team.

Hope Kiki is strengthening the legs and back this weekending. Gonna need it on the sidelines! Say goodbye to the corner office desk!

We should trade Devin Harris for Jrue Holiday and Jason Kapono. Just saying.

Kiki will be coaching the Nets come Monday morning.

Go and get…..CP3 for Harris and whomever else we have to send down

The key to it all is to make the right draft choice in 2010. Kiki hasn’t been great at that. Rod has doen pretty well at the top not so well farther down in the draft. Hopefully there is a no brainer at the top and we win the ping pong battle. Lets keep everybody else out scouting. Might as well keep Frank anyway as 2010 is where it is at.

I wonder if he would do anything different?

by Mr. Big on Nov 27, 2009 11:57 AM EST reply actions

@ Isaac – About time! FIRE FRANK!

@ rubenp – And why would the Hornets do that?

Kiki you did a great job with Rod in the past two years bring in 14 of 15 new players. Next year adding more salary cap room in the amount of 28.3 million dollars is also great. Keep up the good work and please take over as Interim Coach. Make L.Frank assistant practice coach. Demotion is good for L.Frank so he can learn for some other sorry team. 4.5million salary is to high to just cut. Let him rot on the bench as a bench coach or take a paycut to walk. Coach Kiki sounds good to me for the 69 remaining games. Do it asap. GO BROOKLYN NETS! GO BROOKLYN NETS! GO BROOKLYN NETS!

kiki played a major role in putting together this roster, and its only fitting he falls on his sword. first, fire Frank to let kiki take over. then, when the team reaches 0-25 for the ALL TIME ALL SPORTS losing record, fire kiki.

please, anybody, netincome, please tell me what has kiki brought to the nets since thorn hired him. anything positive??? seriously, i want to know what he has contributed.
