Lopez Sprains Ankle...No X-Rays Required

Brook Lopez has played in every game in his Nets career--all 95 of the them. He doesn't want that streak to end. So, after spraining his right ankle Monday at practice, he joked, "watching film hurt a lot more." No x-rays were needed, but Lawrence Frank lists him and Courtney Lee (who suited up vs. the Knicks) as "day-to-day". Lee, he said, certainly wants to play but if he does vs. Denver, it will be off the bench.

Sit Brook to make sure that he doesn’t hurt himself. He is probably our most valuable asset. Don’t screw around with his health and well being. Sit him till he is 100%. Don’t be stupid with him. Let him at least sit versus Portland. They are going to kill us anyway. Save him for Sacremento, our next chance at a win.

Maybe we should T-Will, CDR and Harris also. Save them for next season.

Is there any reason Chris Mihm remains unsigned? I have always thought he was one of the more effective backup centers in the league. I know he was hurt last season, but if he is healthy, he may be worth considering.

Maybe we get to forfeit a couple of games. They would then have to put an asterisk next to our record losing streak.

Wow. This is terrible. Worse than the Yi news. He’s the one player I had faith in not to get hurt.

i cant think of anyway to explain this but cosmically:
the draft gods are here to save us and the free agent gods are here to bring us to our demise.

Well it’s not surprising you get hurt when you’re suddenly playing like 40+ mins a game. I guess letting Sean sit on the bench at times when he was capable of playing at least 10 mins just to give Brook a breather was worth it. Hope Lopez is ok though, last thing we need is Lopez or CDR out for a long period.

Look at the bright side. Opie gets to play real small ball now. And we all know what a master mixer and matcher he is. Oh God, why couldn’t I have been born a hockey fan.

We definitely have to sit him. He might be the one player I do not mess with.

And now starting at center for your New Jersey Nets… Sean Williams… kinda ironic ain’t it?

How about bringing Chocolate Thunder out of retierment? We could play the rest of the season on planet Lovetron. Oh Baby!

@ TheMann
Aha! How foolish of me in not immediately realizing that Brook’s injury in practice is due to LF playing too many minutes.
@ Mike, et al.
Enough with “Opie” already. You want him gone. We get it. But “Opie”,“Larry”, "Little General and “Short Frank” just make you sound more bitter than informed. If you want to slam him, at least be creative.

Is it me or has there been an abundance of injuries in the entire NBA? Every team has had some serious injuries – Chris Paul, Paul Gasol, Tony Parker, many many more. What’s going on? Is there a reason for it? Any thoughts out there?

I was thinking the same thing, Joanne, so I consulted an epidemiologist. His expert opinion was that I should stop wasting his time.
My best guess is that this is just bad luck. Or a bad case of the galloping cooties. Am leaning toward the former. There’d be no bell curve without extremes in one direction or the other. If only there were an epidemic of lopsided trades in the Nets’ favor…

Shawn. As long as we’re at it, I wouldn’t mind seeing if World B. Free has still got game.

This is rediculous what else can go wrong?
I have pledged to not cut my hair until the Nets win a game.
A co worker said I should hold out until the Nets go on a streak!

“Of course Lee is day-to-day according to the coach, who is day-to-day himself.”
hahaha wow, low blow

The NBA should fire The Rat, Kiki and Thorn for what they have done to the Nets.
D. Stern, are you listening?
Hollah!
