Harris To Play Saturday vs. Knicks...and Iverson?

Devin Harris says he'll definitely play Saturday when the 2-9 Knicks visit the 0-12 Nets. Also, Courtney Lee will be back "Saturday or shortly thereafter", says Rod Thorn. Tony Battie is likely back next week. Harris' return may not be the marquee event Saturday. The Knicks appear ready to sign Allen Iverson before then. Last year, Harris scored 38 points against Iverson in his first game as a Piston.

It’s nice to have Devin back, but you gotta wonder if he’s gonna be 100%…and if that groin injury is ever going to go away. Good news but not really.

@ matt
and we need money to fall out of the sky.

@ballagurl – Both Lawrence Frank and Devin told me on Monday that Harris wouldn’t come back unless he was 100%, so you got to believe him at this point.

Even if he is 100% healthy, it’s gonna take him a few games to get back in the groove of b-ball. Don’t expect 30 and 10 from him Sat. night. He won’t get it going again until midway thru the West Coast trip.

On another note, the losing this season doesn’t bother me. I knew we’d be pretty awful. But what will bother me is losing to the Knicks. There are some things I can’t stand to watch, and that’s one of them. We can go 4-78 for the season, as long as the four wins come against the Dolans, I’m good!

What a circus. The Knicks get Iverson who will totally foul them up. They’ll go from bad to worse.

They’ll be playing against the Nets – who can’t possibly get any worse. They should give free admission to this one or pay people to attend.

Look for the return of Devin Harris to be a non-event. The Knicks will blow out the Nets providing Iverson plays limited minutes. If Iverson starts – its a toss up which team will be worse.

Nets ugly it out 72 to 70 and get their first W……

This is getting scary, the longest losing streak to start a season has been 17 and if we lose this game, we can break the record!

If there’s one thing I learned from being a coach (lacrosse) it’s that groin injuries are the worst. You really need to rest for a couple months before putting any more strain on it. I hope being a professional athlete and doing the right thing by waiting (almost a month now, right?) Devin will be able to start playing again soon.

Just take it easy tonight, Devin… don’t go crashing into defenders and taking hits tonight.

I feel positive that with Harris back we can try to win a few games, i hope we dont break the worst start record in NBA history

wasnt that the sixers ???

Go Harris Go, the Team needs you.

Just what this Nets team needs. Here comes the demolition man, Harris. Shoot first, pass as last resort. Out of position to play defense because he usually has to travel length of full court, after one of his patented head long drives. By the time he gets up the other team is already down the court. And people wonder why he’s always hurt.

Does this mean that we wont have to see Alston dribble the ball off his foot in the 4th quarter anymore!!!!???

AND Y’ALL AREN’T RELIEVED FOR THIS NEWS!??

Get out of here you non fans.

If harris starts, that will be Frank’s first mistake.

by SIC on Nov 19, 2009 12:36 PM EST reply actions

Harris should wait till after thanksgiving to be sure. It doesn’t matter anyways. Only shot at W nets have is Sat against Knicks and Harris is not going to be ready by then.
Next winnable game after knick game is Charlotte at home.
And why are people countng the days about when Yi comes back. I am good with next April.

@ Mr. T:

I agree completely. Lose all you want, just beat the damn Knicks. And tell Simmons to keep up the good work on Nate.
