Harris Happy to Help

Few players do as much community work as Devin Harris. Wednesday, he was in Newark--alone as usual--signing autographs for grateful fans at a Pathmark. It's been an increasingly woeful season for the Nets, but their presence at events from a breakfast for a hero cop to rock-climbing with kids has helped them and their fans through it. "Fans are in a tough situation," Harris tells the Times.

Yeah, nice gesture, but we’d appreciate it more if he could actually help on the court.

The way this guy gets injured, I hope he doesn’t get carpel tunnel from signing autographs…

Such anger

Again, complete buffons. Many of the commentators on here expose the worst aspects of the internet.

Agree with Adam. We should all be proud of Devon, and this article appearing in the NY Times. What is wrong with you people? Do you think Harris enjoys being on the sidelines? I’ve been a injured member of a collegiate varsity team, and nothing is worse. You’re on the team, but you’re really not part of it. The fact that Devon contributes his time and not merely his money says a lot about his character.

He’s getting paid millions of dollars to contribute his time. Again, a nice gesture as not everyone does, but I wouldn’t exactly call him Mother Theresa just yet. Also, many Net fans, including myself, are not exactly thrilled about his aloof, me-first attitude on the court. Hate the fact that he’s so injury prone as well.
