Давай Бруклин Hетc!

Two weeks after Bruce Ratner agreed to sell the Nets to Mikhail Prokhorov, the team quietly trademarked the Russian translation of "Brooklyn Nets" for use on "basketball shoes, basketball sneakers, Tshirts, shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, pants, tank tops, jerseys, shorts," etc. There's no indication how soon the Nets might begin marketing such gear. (Our headline reads "Go Brooklyn Nets!"...we think)

Since we have state-sponsored confiscation of land for a basketball stadium, it’s only fitting that we have a Russian owner.

Property rights, freedom and capitalism are dead, apparently. And we’re much worse off for it.

The phrase reads something to the extent of “Depart Brooklyn Nets”, there isn’t really a phrase in Russian equivalent to “Go Nets!”. The closest thing would be “Давай Бруклин Hетc!” Or just “Бруклин Hетc!”

A correction…the trademark was registered two weeks AFTER the purchase agreement, not two weeks before. Sorry for the mistake. Gotta have coffee before I post this stuff.
