No Harris for Final Preseason Game

When the Nets cross two rivers Friday to get to St. John's for their final preseason game, the bus will be lighter. Devin Harris' uniform won't be packed. He isn't playing. Backup and Queens native Rafer Alston had a bad reaction to shellfish, making him questionable. Keyon Dooling? He says think Thanksgiving for a return. That leaves the Nets with, with, with...never mind. Jarvis Hayes might play, if that's a consolation.

Well, I would like to see Hayes play at SF instead of Simmons.

Give CDR some more time as a guard in this game (for the experience) but I think he should be our starting SF. Lee and CDR start with TWill subbing for both.

I agree with you MacGyver. I wanna see Hayes out there instead of Simmons..even tho it was nice to see Simmons give Nate a hard foul and was about 2 take him out too lol need guys like that on the team. And i think CDR and Lee both deserve to start..they have been playing well..TWill should be our 6th man. I like the makeup of this team

play Skip as the starter, and Twill as the backup. Twill can play 1 or 2 on the court.

Skip may be out on Friday too..we would have to play TWill at the point and CDR as backup??

Lets trade Harris while he is still alive. We should be able to get a second round draft pick and maybe a backup PF. Must hurry before its to late…

And if Alston can’t play, T-Will is are starting PG? The Nets 2009 11th overall draft pick is looking like a steal right now, seriously!

Shellfish? Jesus…

Play T-Will @ the point for the majority of the game, it’ll be a good experience plus with the way Mr. Glass is looking we might have to throw him there a lot this season

I’m glad Harris isnt playing. I think he’s fine, but I’d rather he sit out and fully strengthen the ankle than play in pre-season and start missing regular season games. Besides its funny Rafer has a shellfish reaction also just in time for the last pre-season game. I think the Nets are just testing the guys like T-Will, CDR, and Lee to see how they’ll play the distributor if it REALLY came down to it. On a side note, someone needs to teach Brook to PASS out of the double team and not just force up shots.

I agree with mike.

if devin doesnt make it thru this season without more injuries i say trade him in the offseason while we stil have value. this is getting absurd.

i dont like injury prone players. most of that is mental. isiah thomas played hurt, jordan played hurt, bird, duncan…

its all about desire.

@ Mr. Dollar Bills;
Is Mr. Glass half filled or half empty?

by Mike on Oct 22, 2009 4:20 PM EDT reply actions

There is only one answer for this. And it is not The Answer. It’s

STARBURY!!!!!!!!!!!

HOLLLLAH!!!!

This literally may go down as the worst pre-season for any team in history. The one player the Nets simply cannot do without has missed nearly the entire pre-season, in a year when it was so critical for him to establish himself with his new teammates and control the flow of team from the get go.

Much scariness ahead, I’m afraid…We may be 0-15 out of the blocks…

If we get SCARBURY our official team theme song should be “Crazy Train”.

i like how cdr is playing lately so i say start him at sf…although i rele like twill.

If the Nets had their own “in house” acupuncturist to treat the sprains everyday, then Devin would be ready to play already. Its a pain to have to make a special trip 2-3 times each week. Devin said he was 80% better after Tuesday’s treatment alone.

Hopefully the players will be able to get their new owner to spend a little change to make that happen. The word seems to be spreading among athletes to get acupuncture tx, but as yet no professional team has admitted to having a full time acupuncturist on staff.

Hope he doesn’t get the China Doll label.

The Nets will not be favored in any game this season. Let the ping pong balls fly.

the first season game is against the timberwolves.. maybe we can get A win if Harris, Lopez, CDR, T-Will, Lee, and Yi can play together.
