Game 47 - Nets @ Hawks - Friday, January 30, 7:30

Last time the Nets and Hawks met in Atlanta they were among the NBA's biggest surprises. Not so much anymore. The Nets are reeling and hurting after Wednesday's one-point loss to Toronto. The Hawks are 5-8 in the last 13, including an ugly loss to the Knicks. Joe Johnson, who will join Devin Harris in the East All-Star lineup, is in a major slump, averaging only 16.9 points in January.

thank goodness. We actually have a remote chance of beating this team.
It’s taken alot of things for us to beat this Hawks team, and thankfully there sliding, unfortunaetley we are as well.
Al Horford is out, that’s great for Lopez. He had a good game last night, but only 10 shot attempts. not good enough.
Joe Johnson is one of the true worthy all-stars, but he’s having an off month, and it’s time for Vince to take advantage.
All I worry about is Mike Bibby. He’s been playing solid, and he’s been finding teamates, knocking down 3s, he’s still got alot left.
This is going to be a tough game, and even tougher to sweep this team, but let’s hope that the Nets can steal one here.
Go Nets!

Don’t worry RM, Harris will tire him out by running all over the floor making him defend him.
I worry about Josh Smith though, I have a feeling he’ll be eating Ryno/Simmons/Hayes/Najera up on the defensive end and we’ll have to put the game solely in Carter’s or Harris’ hands.

trade carter already. the management obviously doesn’t care about this team until 2010 and live in a pipe dream that they can sign 2 free agents. why is someone going to sign with a team that has a bad coach and doesn’t compete. so what is the point of having carter. just trade him already because this team is not going anywhere and will be left with nothing but cap space.

If Carter and Harris don’t bring it, we will get blown out within 10 minutes by this team. I think this will be a classic Nets friday night “lets mail it in early so we can hit the clubs” 9-13 point loss, but Harris might go off because of the all star selection. All i know is that this team brings it inside and outside and if these guys come out there like they’ve been doing this will be a joke.
Al Horford being out is great for Lopez, but lousy for my fantasy team :-D

If we get swept in this back to back against two good teams like Atlanta and Philly, I think we’ll be done. I think we can win tonight tho. We’ve beaten the Hawks three times these season, let’s hope we sweep the season series.

Going to the game, hopefully there’ll be some amazing highlights from Josh Smith and VC. Go Nets!

The Nets haven’t won convincingly since the Dallas game. Either it will be a squeeker or the Nets will get blown out.
Take a tip from the NJ Devils. Commit to New Jersey, get a good coach, and put together a winning team. The Devils ownership is gonna start packing em in while the Nets are going to lose their shirt.

No chance we win. Simply because we aren’t going to sweep the Hawks. They are do for a win against us.

i really feel that this is a 5th seed team but for some reason the team has falterd and it’s ok?! i also thought the knicks where a 8th seed.I can’t take this season,it’s really bringing me down with the poor play.

Great, Joe Johnson was outdueled by Carter three times this season, and he got voted in as an all-star.
God, I wish VC plays with a full roster of competent starters, like JJ does.

I didn’t see vc ever played with a full roster of competent starters in his 10th years in nba, who is the best known player still in nba, beside chris, tracy and jason? They’re not play in the same team and how many roster changed since he was in NJ, bad organization.

um…Kobe? Howard? Wade? Yao? …some names that are (unfortunately but realistically) bigger then Carters.

The Nets are playing terrible basketball. No energy or intensity. Carter has given up on this team – you can tell by the way he’s playing.
I really hope they trade him soon!
