Lopez Named to Rookie Challenge Roster

At least one Nets player will be going to Phoenix in two weeks. Brook Lopez was named to the Rookies roster for the 2009 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam, which will take place on Friday, Feb. 13. Nine rookies and nine sophomores were selected by the league's assistant coaches. Lopez also continues to rise in various rookie rankings. All-Star reserves will be announced Thursday night on TNT.

Good for him. Him starting in that game instead of Oden would send a message.

How does first Marc Gasol go above him in Rookie Rankings and now Kevin Love????

Lopez is clearly superior to Oden. If he doesn’t start, you know that the NBA truly has their favorites on and off the court.

i think there is no doubt that lopez is the best rookie center.
i would have been nice to see lopez-v-yi if they were matched up against each other. it also would have been cool to see brook and robin play side-by-side but robin wont be there.
hopefully he has fun with it and learns from it and doesnt end up like swat last year. swat had his highlight off the backboard dunk and that was the last good thing swat did last season. brook is no swat so we should be safe :)
as for love above brook i think its because love was hyped more than brook so if love does something good that reminds people why he was hyped up and projected as a top guy. if brook got any type of hype coming out of college like an oden or love then people would really talk highly of brook. i really dont care because when you get real basketball people like Popovich praising brook, thats all i need to hear.

matt, who said Oden is starting? They haven’t named starters, just the nine guys on the team.

Looks like Brook will be the only Net representing for All Star weekend, since Carter and Harris have played themselves right out of all star consideration
Kudos to “The Thriller”!! Hopefully this will be the 1st of many all star weekends for our young talented center

@NBA
Yea that would be a great trade…FOR THE NETS…lol. Sure the Wizards would give up 2 allstar caliber players and another starte for an aging VC and 3 guys who don’t play. hahaha. it was funny though.

@NBA
ok so we give 3 underachievers and vince for the wizards 3 best,healthy players…there is no reason for the wizards to do that what so ever…=[
you’re better than that

@ nets daily
why cant the nba tell the fans who made the all star team if the votes were sbmitted in yesterday??

joe t, probably because TNT pays a lot of money to have the announcement made on Thursday.

don’t be suprised if either Vince or Devin make it. All coaches finished voting before we lost to the Thunder.
Just one more time for Vince. He deserves it, it shows that the coaches and people have seen VInce’s ressurection and I’m sure by the end of tonights game, you guy’s will be saying they need to be in the all-star game.
Congrats B-Lo. You’d have to be utterly blind to see that B-lo is the best center in teh rookie draft.

ok NBA, you got me. I won’t be going to anymore of your trade proposals. But that was funny.
