Hollinger: Harris and Carter Both Deserve All-Star Spots

John Hollinger puts things in their most basic perspective. Devin Harris deserves to be an All-Star because "he's the reason the Nets aren't at the bottom of the East like everyone expected". As for Vince Carter, forget that shibboleth that you can't have two players from a losing team. "List the 12 East players having their best seasons and try leaving off Carter. You can't." Coaches vote Tuesday.

well he is giving love to the nets because he picked them to be at the bottom of the standings and we proved him wrong but he is right what he said about carter

Look where VC ranks in SG efficiency
tell me that man deserves to be left off the all star team. just try to come up with a reason.
if he does not make it, it would be a darn shame.

How about they just decide the reserves based on the votes rather than the decision made by the coaches?

Isn’t he the one of 4 guys averaging 20+ 5 and 5
I know he is quite at 5 on assists this season but I think I am right.

Finally, thanks for love Hollinger, this is one of his few arguments/stories that actually makes sense.
im tired of here so called NBA analyst telling viewers that a player shud be on the all-star team just because they’re the second best player on a championship level team. i even heard my beloved mark jackson say that KENDRICK PERKINS deserves an allstar spot. are u kidding me, he is at best a role player the man averages 8 and 8. same goes for mo williams and rajon rondo, its easy to average those numbers when ur playing off superstars that defenses are designed to solely stop who deal with constant double teams
its honestly an easy concept, picked the 12 players having the best seasons. and if u believe mo williams, rondo, big Z or perkins are among the 12 best and most feared players in the East ur crazy.
both devin and vince are undeniably among the 12 best and most feared players by opposing coaches and defenses. i mean think about it do coaches devise defenses to shut down perkins or rondo.

@ Ian
agree with u
the entire boston team is in the same situation the pistons were when they had 4 all stars. just cause u r the best team doesnt mean ur entire starting lineup is all-star caliber.
as far as im concerned that just means ur a great team. theres no rule that says just cause ur a .800 win team doesnt mean ur entitled to more than 2 all-stars and just cause ur an under 500 team eliminates u from having any or even 2 in the Nets case
plain and simple best 12 players

wow. amazing. If even Hollinger is giving love to the Nets, and especially VC, good things will happen.
wow that made me happy today.
