Williams Dominates In D-League

After being thrown out of one game and fouling out of another, Sean Williams dominated Saturday as his Colorado 14ers beat the Austin Toros, 107-101. Williams had 16 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 blocks, and three personal fouls, all in the fourth quarter. Williams shot 7-for-13 and might have had a triple-double if a number of his passes hadn't been flubbed. The Nets haven't decided whether to recall him.

Thanks God. Please leave him there for couple of more games and see whether he can produce consistently. Guy has talent but his head is the problem.

He looked very good. He played PF, but didn’t take a shot farther away than 10 feet. His passing out of the post was quite good.

I must confess, Swat is my favorite player in b-ball. He embodies everything I beleive it takes to win. It’s only 1 game in D-League but does anybody think Yi’s injury had something to do with this.

I think he knows that he can get playing time now that YI is injured and he decided to step it up.

thank god sean did something eye popping. would have been nice if it was a couple days ago but nothing we can do about that.
with yi out, swift away and ryan’s back messed up i dont think it can hurt to bring sean up.
whats the worst that can happen? he sucks again? this one game isnt going to up his value although it may open some eyes.
im sure he will play another game or two before we decide and if he continues to do well then let him stay there. let him rack up the stats and make someone think he can do it in their system.

Eventhough its only one game, its nice to see him still get the stats we all know he capable of

and people thought I was crazy for wanting Sean to come back in.
Bring him back! Like I said it’s his time to shine!!!!!

Joe Dabbert scored 22…does that mean we should call him up too?
SWAT should be left there another week or so, then brought up to be showcased, then traded.

if any fan has ever doubted sean’s imense, incredible, above average talents, then youre just hating. the kid xcan play. if youre a netfan nad watched some games last year, you would know for sure sean is a beast when he’s clicking. but as all young players, he needs to be developed right. i still think that sean wasnt well managed last year going onto this year. but thats another story. i think sean should play a couple of more games at the d league, then come back and play some 4. the nets dont always have to have the 4 as a shooter. sometimes sacrificing some offense for some d makes sense ion periods throughout the game. and a frontline of lopez and sean would probably be the best shotblocking duo ionin the league hands down. they would put a stamp in the paint. it would be almost as impossible to get a layup through them. and with brook on the floor, you always can pouinund the ball down low, and play off him. he’s a good passer. or play through vc in the post. plus brook is a shooter. the nets can play brook at the 4 on O and slot sean at the 5 to create their formations properly in accordance to their offense. sean is a game changer, and i know that he can help the nets this season and beyond. this kid has allstar talent. he’s wporth the ehadaches and aggrevitation. watch him in a couple of yhyrs when he has the game figured out. plus he isnt a liability on offense. he can hit the free throw, he can hit the midranger with the turnaround to go with that, and he knows how to use the glass well. plus his athleticism makes him so hard to match up gainst. i dont know where all these people are coming with that garbage that sean doesnt have a position, the guy is a 4, period. im shocked that some of you havent seen sean play at the 4 last year for about 40 games where he started some, and was averaging some bnnice numbers. i can pull out stats of some of his games last year and you would be shocked to see them coming from a rookie that everyone said he was raw. all sean needs is some beleif in him, the organization needs to take his development seriously. this kid has the goods.

i cant believe some of you fans havent commented on dave d’s article about sean showing bad attitude and refusing to go in the lockeroom at halftime or whatever. a couple of days later after that thron refuted the rumor which was made up by allesamnndro and called it false. i noticed dave d hasnt got a clue about basketball cause he never has his own opinion abou the nets nd the game overall. i get the sense that whatever some people do, especuiially frank does is right and most of his articles are trying to defend frank’s moves and decisions. and if there is a player that isnt flouruishing under frank, especially younger players, dave d will always bull shit about the player to validate whatever his boy frabnk does. its getting wack the way he does it. there isnt another reporter that does that. whether its al or fred who are the best two by far, and even garcia who doesnt do too much reposrting outside the game doesnt do that. also daviod weldstein is always on the ball and only reports what he sees instead of twiasting and turning and bull about some players or shcmes to support frank.
i wonder how is credibitly was shook that his story turned out to be bull. he was the only one who came out with it about 2 thousand miles away. but el presidente, made sure to burn that story out. and to see sean come back with a super game almost having a quad double, im sure dave will either say nothing about it, or either tainted his achievement somehow.
i see sean as a smaller version of chandler, but sean actually does have some potential on the offensiove end. chicago gave up on him for nothing, pj brown, cause skiles wouldnt commit to his development. he goes to new orl;eans and he becomes allstar material. people say all his points are off lobs or whatver, but he gets 14 rebs, more than 3 blks, and anchors the paiont and defends the likes of duncan garnett and others better than anybody else. sean might not be as big, but the way hios career ios going its very similar to what chandler went through. and there will always be another team waiting to pounce on a 22yrs old, atheltic beast with toons of potential and probably the best pure shot blocker in the league.
if the nets trade him it has to be for equal value, and because of his poitential it could backfire badly. i dont understand how some fans can compare the talents and skills of bioone to sean. boone is an excellent role player who can rebound the heck of the ball, and can defend the 4 p[osition very nicley and ne understands where to be on the floor. these are things sean will learn only through playing time, or if he doesnt get the pt it will take longer becausede all hell have is practice. but sean playing his bets comnpared to boone playing his best there isnt any comparison. boone didnt make it to the sophmore team last year and sean made the freshman team. and sean dominated. and sean was the s[park plug the nets needed l;ast year before allstar break. im not making this up, this is true, if sopmone doesnt beleieve just watch allof the games last year especioally before allstar break and everyone will see for themselves. sean was a beast. and ui think it would be a good thing to change the style for the nets once ion a while and put sean at the 4 and become a defeinsive team. slowly intergrate sean into a rol;e. he isnt a 5, he isnt a 3, he’s a 4. i like the trio of yi, anderson and sean at the 4. since sean and anderson are young, its not bad to insert nejara if he’s playing well, like he has the last two ga mes especially. but the nets are made at the 4 position for the next 10 yrs at least. they have 3 guys with different skill sets. and they all look like long term contributers for the nets or any other team. plus i think yi has all star potential, i thinkif sean clicks it well, he can be a chandler type. a mix of m,martin, chandler, and some stoudemire with his athelticism. he might not pan out that way, but he sure does have simliratuies to them. and anderson is a player period. i think he’s better than love, and is a better scorer than lee. he just needs to bulk up some. he is a multi talented player. and at center the nets have l;lopez, who i think will become howards sub for the allstar game for the very near future for yrs. and boone is there as a backup. boone is a good rol;e player. but he has to fix his offensive issues cause he kkills the team when he misses. and what hurts is that he has the ability to craw fouls at a high rate. if boone can get an offensive game, he would be amazing. but i think long term the vbig out of those young big with the less value, is boone. they should of took bilenelli for boone. the nets can slot in stro at the 5, and can play sean, yi, and nejkara some. even though sean wasnt getting numbers when he was l;opez’ primary bacup at the ceneter position, the team did win, and they had the best strecth of their season then. someitymes boone reminds me of collins, but the super type. i like boone, but i like sean and the other bugs better as players. thats just me. and dave d please stop the bull man.

I’m excited to see that stat line, but I’d want him to do it for a few more games before bringing him back and investing PT in him. Still, it’s nice to see that the potential that we all believed he has may just be reached one of these days.

im sure if the nets wanted to trade sean they could of just a few days ago. it was reported that the nuggets had interest in sean williams as a back up big. the nuggets like athletic bigs, and he could bementored by martin and nene. the nuggest traded atkins, a pg the nets need, a protected first rounder and cash about 850k, for petro whos been in the revbuilding thunder team stuck on the bench for almost 2 uyrs, and i think its his 4th or 5th year. so the nuggets gave up a 3rd string pg which the nets really need, a protected fiorst roynder for this year, which wil;l probably slot into the early 20’s to the mid 20’s, which is what i would thinkthe nets would at least want foir sean, and cash for petro. whos better sean or petro. petro aint that bad actually, i like him as a player and would be a decent legit backup center for brook. but the nuggets have the 6’11" tall anderson who plays center so its not like the nuggets needed a center over a pf. plus the nets were far low enough undfeer the tax treshold to make the deal and still be under the tax.
and the fact that kiki has very good relations with the nuggets, so im sure kiki probably got that offer from the nuggets earlier on.. i think they see piotential in sean and if theyre gonna trade him it will be for a good young player. maybe like lowry. but sean is a big and the general rule is dont trade buifg for small unless the small is a special talent. i think they like sean, and thorn remembers the games sean had last year. sean and lopez would be one of the best defensive frontline in the nba today. but its too bad the nets didnt trade boone for bilenelli. thats a big for small i would do. like ive pointed out before, boone’s potential and upside is not very high at all. he is a very limited player, and you just cant see past his defficiencies. his offensive game kills the team sometimes, like the secound coming of collins. and he is very weak at defendi9ng the paint. it seems any player can drive on him and score. even though sean has a problem with fouls, at least those are aggressive fouls, fouls that are with a defensive purpose. i just wiosh frank would really beleieve in him and gove him a REAL shot. the same way he stuck with yi from the get go. im sure theres alot of pressure with him on yi from management and the whole organization, but yi is wirth the gamble. with lopez it tool boone getting injured, and lopez was sucking coming off the bench, he almost looked like a bust. with lopez, its like lopez took the starting center position away. he proved to frank. lopez knows how to play coming out of college same as anderson. these were really good picks. because they can have an impact immedietaly and they still have room fopr improvement and potential. with sean its different even though when he was given the chzacne to play last year ealroier on, he did show that he can contribute and impact the game riught away. but sean was a project from the get go, and the nets organization should use his full 4 yrs of roolie scale slary to develop him. but they cant waste yrs with him. they have to find a role for him and use him for his strength and slowly the rest part of his game will develop. sean is worth the gamble as well. please, fans who are in doubt or who have a short term memroy, please try and find the games before allstar break last year where sean played good minutes and watch it, and youtube seanwilliams and youll know this kid has supernatural talent, unique, special talent. fans need to recognize, but most importantly, the coaching staff needs tonrecgnize, ots only gonna benefit the nets organization. it would be murderous if the\y trade sdean andf next thing you know he starts to fulfill his potential. i think the chandler trade had alot to do with skiles getting fired. im sure that stayed ion the back nuner of reinsdorf and paxson.

one hit wonder or the real deal.
Relax, stick with the plan. He’ll be down until he can do it consistently.
O, by the way, how was his D, which is his biggest other problem?

I agree. SWAT’s development was completely set back by the departure of Kidd. That being mentioned, I think that potential is still there. I blame LF for being so stupid and not adjusting and putting SWAT in a situation to succeed on the floor.

mark my words, give it some time and he will be better than the best of garnett on defense!

Guys, relax. Number 1 they shouldn’t recall him. Let him continue to build confidence. If his good play continues, don’t be surprised if he’s flipped somebody half way decent.

The only thing i am happy is if williams continue this play we can trade him for gerald wallace or shawn marion.

Why bring him back? he had 1 good game. that’s like the yanks sending down a guy and recalling him just because he hit a Homerun. if he’s not going to play here then let him get at least a dozen games under his belt in the D league.
by Tom on Jan 11, 2009 5:48 PM EST reply actions
wow, he had 3 personal fouls in the 4th quarter. Very impressive all round game, but he had 3 personal fouls in just 12min. I think we should bring he back because he was our starting power foward last year for many games. I think he will help insert energy and defence in our starting lineup. I think the nets should call him up because now we only have two power forwards, and Najera is the only one right now who looks consistant. Hopefully Ryan can put up a lot of points and rebounds, because we are going to need him since Yi is not in the lineup. I was thinking Najera should start, being that he is the most consistant but Frank is set on having high energy players off the bench.
