Around SBN: Champions League Preview with Jimmy Conrad

This Could Be the Last Time...Maybe the Last Time

Well, at least for the NetsDaily Off-Season Report. The off-season ends Friday morning when the Nets gather in East Rutherford for Media Day. After that it's training camp, aka pre-season. So after 23 weeks, we are shutting down the Off-Season Report, but not before reviewing it all, one deal at a time, and taking a look at Nenad Krstic and Eduardo Najera, national heroes.

Hard to believe it has been 23 weeks since we went out with a whimper. It has been a very eventful summer, and it has been somewhat unexpected. I only wish the Camby thing had worked out. I think Kiki was really pulling for that. It will be interesting to see how the new players fit in. I am really pulling for Najera and the rookies. I think Dooling is a solid pickup. But we need that one more trade to reduce the redundancy on the roster: swift, swill, ager, hassell, etc. It would be great if two of those went and left us room for a banger inside or a playmaker or sniper. But it will be exciting next week when it begins. I hope for a scrappy team that digs in and works hard. I am not expected miracles (35 wins or so), but I’d like to be entertained, and I’d like to see the future develop and I’d like to get excited about Lopez, CDR, Anderson, Yi, Swill, Boone….

thanks for 23 updates….

Krstic will be back in better game shape with more mental & physical toughness as long as he doesn’t hold a chip on his shoulder.

Definitely kept my summer interesting seeing it I had to take back to back summer courses. Best Nets Website on the planet!

Thank you for the excellent reports, and I think your takes are right on. Your assessment of the Krstic situation puts a chill on my rosy scenarios of him coming back healthy to play a key role on a Nets contender in two years. I hope you are wrong but fear you are right. Thorn got heated on the rehab subject, so the bad blood could be on both sides.
