Well the schedule pretty much sucks again this year, at least for those of us without YES network. The Nets only have 1 game on National TV, although not including NBA TV games. Yi vs Yao will probably televised again plus 1 or 2 others so probably 3 or 4 or so national tv games this year for the Nets.

when kidd comes to town, he should get a standing O. yes it ended ugly, but time heals all wounds and as we move forward as a franchise i realize him acting the way he did and demanding a trade resulted in us getting a solid young pg for the next 10 years along with draft picks and im grateful.

ill keep my Harris jersey at home and dust off the good ol #5 jersey for that night.

at first i wished nothing but bad things for the mavs and i still want them to suck hard in the 09-10 season so our pick is as high as it can possibly be, but i dont want kidd to continue to go down in flames like he is right now.

he looked awful how he handled his last weeks here in jersey. his return to dallas was a huge disappointment with them giving away a lot of their future for him. he keeps getting exposed by younger guards and chris paul just purely embarrassed him in the playoffs (yes, paul does that to a lot of people).

kidd has fallen hard and fast. despite how much i hated him for what he did here, when emotions calmed down and now we are months removed of our franchise being sent to dallas i realized the greatness he did for us. his departure will not destroy or tarnish what he did here and for that i hope he can find that one special year again and be the jason kidd who could will a team to victory when they do not have the superior talent, but because he wont allow his teammates to lose. thats the kidd that i want to see at least once more before he calls it a career. now will it happen? i cant see it, but people thought after his knee surgery he would be done and proved everyone wrong by coming back better and more motivated. maybe with cp3 and deron playing more in the olympics and people now saying that cp3 should be the main guard it will motivate kidd to be that old kidd where he took control of the game and didnt depend on others to make the plays because he would do it himself.

im sure a lot of people still hate kidd, but i think with more time everyone will appreciate what he did for us despite him getting a headache that became the beginning of the end for him and this franchise as we knew it. hopefully others agree with me and will be giving him a standing O when he comes back to the swamp. i just hope when he does talk he doesnt say something that will bring up bad feelings again and almost make it hard to cheer for the guy at this point in time.

It could be worse though for Nets fans though, Charlotte, Indiana, Knicks, Atlanta, Minnesota, Seattle, Milwaukee and Sacramento all have 1 or 0 nationally televised games, although none of these teams are really expected to be playoff contenders.

As for the rest of the schedule LA, Boston, and Cleveland have the most national TV games. Dallas has a ton of nat’l TV games as well, which was somewhat surprising. As expected Spurs, Suns, Utah, and Denver all have a lot of TV games as well. Portland has a good amount, which is not surprising with all of the young talent on that team. I am glad Miami and Chicago got less televised games this year after having 20 last year and both teams being busts, although Miami still has far too many TV games for a 15 win team from a year ago.

Some contenders got shafted in my opinion. Houston got less than I expected considering how good they are expected to be. Philly did not get many either I think 7 even though they are expected to be a top team in the east this year. New Orleans got 12 or so which is a lot, but compared to the other top 6 or so teams in the west they have considerably fewer. And Toronto only got 2 games for a team with JO which is expected to be a very good team in the east.

I’ll cheer him during the introductions. Once the game begins. I’m booing hm like there is no tomorrow. What he did was despicable. He stabbed every Nets fan in the back and completely destroyed this franchise. He rebuilt this franchise and the destroyed it at the same time.

Overall with the schedule I think the NBA is doing it wrong again. It seems like every national TV game is always the same match up or some combination of the same 3 or 4 teams like last year with Chicago v Boston, Detroit v Boston, Detroit v Chicago, Chicago v Clevland etc. on every single night. I agree that the top teams should get more games on TV, but i mean 25+ vs 0 for some teams is just stupid. I get bored of the same match ups over and over, especially when it is boring teams like Cleveland, Detroit, and San Antonio who to me at least are brutally boring to watch when they are not playing the Nets or another team I like watching. I enjoy watching teams that are not on TV a whole lot.

The NBA schedule needs more balance with the National TV games. Less Boston, LA, Cleveland more Indiana, Seattle, Nets, Atlanta.

Welp, I’ll be going to that game in Decemeber to boo Kidd right out of the damn building. I don’t care what anyone says, i will always appreciate the good times but Kidd left the Nets like a classless piece of garbage and if it wasnt for ROD THORN AND KIKI we would have been screwed if they didn’t fleece the ungodly mess out of Mark Cuban. Kidd was out there dogging it and he destroyed whatever chemistry last year’s pathetic team had instead of quietly requesting a trade and playing hard like a professional until Thorn was able to find an acceptable deal. Anyone who watched the games leading up to the Dallas game where Kidd had the NERVE to audition for Mark Cuban in the stands should not have a favorable view of that wife beating jerk….how come his level of play picked up when Cuban was in the stands and the Nets coincidently GAVE it to Dallas when that happened? Kidd is lucky that the IZOD is a ghost town, im sure i’m not the only one who is willing to give him crap every time he touches the ball. I hope Harris has Kidd out there looking like he’s on rollerskates and breaks that old man’s ankles into pieces with continued drive after drive.

On the other hand, when RJ returns, i will be sure to give him a standing O and clap anytime he scores, because unlike Jason Kidd, he did not force his way out of here like a spoiled brat. Oh yeah, he stopped playing defense and became selfish, but at least the guy wanted to stick it out with us instead of jumping ship or acting like a moron because things weren’t going well.

Wow…. only 1 national televised game and they didn’t even get that right? A home game on Feb 20th against the Wizards….I guess I am ok with only 1 national televised game due to the current status of the nets, but if they are going to be bad why on Feb 20th when that would be the time when they are out of playoff contention….

You have Houston & Dallas at Nets in December (when I guess it will still count for the nets), which would actually draw a tad bit of interest from the everyday NBA fan….

by Mike L on Aug 6, 2008 3:25 PM EDT reply actions

At least they’ll be no pressure on the nets when the self-obsessed wifebeater returns on december 19th.

We’ll no doubt have been officially eliminated from playoff contention by then.

Unless of course, rod thorn-in-my-side finally sees the light and replaces the redheaded midget with a real nba head coach.

KIDD took this franchise and put us on the map. no breakup is ever really that smooth. But he was the best NET ever in terms of results. no booing from me, much respect. When he was happy here there has NEVER been a greater NET in terms of giving everything he had.

Bob,

LMAO….

Another sub 500 November, here we come….a lawrence frank trademark

by Mr. Dollar Bills on Aug 6, 2008 4:41 PM EDT reply actions

@ mr d.b.

I just hope that the new guys on the team aren’t too intimidated and awestruck by the redheaded midget.

Being coached by lawrence frank, a.k.a. ‘larry legend’, might be a bit too much for them to handle.

I mean how can any player possibly live up to the standard of excellence that the redheaded midget has set during his hall of fame career?

Impossible. Just impossible.

(yes, that was sarcasm, folks)

I’ll probably be cheering for Dallas by the time december rolls around anyway so i’ll be cheering for kidd in one way or another.

Can’t wait for that game. And the Milwaukee game. And thats all I’m looking forward to this season. Sad.

i thought when we got Yi that Nets-Rockets game would be on ABC or something so the NBA could showcase Yi-vs-Yao. well i guess not.

personally i rather not have nationally televised games. i prefer to watch the YES broadcast especially if Ian Eagle is doing the game.

oh and personally i think the wiz get way more attention than they deserve. i know they have ego-head arenas and they score and scoring sells, but i rather watch an exciting team like atlanta during a season. 11 games for washington? i dont know, maybe they are loved and are a top team to watch that deserves 11 appearances. to me that is far too many, but i guess its better than watching the celtics, lakers, spurs, suns, pistons on 20 times.

by xcalibur on Aug 6, 2008 9:07 PM EDT reply actions

oh wait, most of those teams are either over 20 or right there. so the nba just gave a big F U to me. they shoulda put the raps, okc, hell even the bucks on more.

by xcalibur on Aug 6, 2008 9:14 PM EDT reply actions

I think the wiz deserve all the attention they get

I like watching those guys play. They should have held onto mason though. he was key off their bench.

by Trenton on Aug 7, 2008 9:39 AM EDT reply actions

When Dallas comes in for their sole appearance, I’ll be be giving a standing ovation… to Antoine Wright! Oh, and J-Kidd too.

by A.S. on Aug 7, 2008 4:26 PM EDT reply actions

I will be going to both games to see Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson. Richard Jefferson hands down gets a standing ovation from me. Very similar to when Kmart came back and we all chanted KENYON MARTIN! RJ was great for this team and showed that he had pride wearing the Nets uniform! He will always be apart of the Nets family! As for Jason Kidd, I am still torn by the antics he pulled before his departure, however, I will stand and cheer during the introductions. Jason Kidd was the best Nets player ever and is definately my favorite Net of all time. I really wished we could have won a championship while he was here. His play was so smooth and exciting and he helped bring together a whole new generation of Nets fans.

by Justin on Aug 7, 2008 9:45 PM EDT reply actions

Jason Kidd should also eventually have his jersey retired and hanging in the rafters. I will be there when that happens.
