NetsDaily Mock Roundup #4

It's getting late. With a week left til the draft, things begin to solidify. While every mock, including the key ones--those kept by teams, can be turned topsy-turvy by events, teams are making lists and talking about them in war rooms.

The Nets are expected to have their first serious discussions starting in the next few days...once international scout Rob Meurs returns from the Spanish League tournament. And this year, Meurs' opinion will be particularly valuable. The Nets have been working out a number of international players, the most important being Danilo Gallinari.

A survey of 15 mock drafts--out of the more than 100 on the web--shows that Gallinari of AJ Milano has moved into the top spot for the Nets' first pick at #10, with five of the 15 putting him at that spot. All four of the top mocks--Draft Express, NBADraft.net, ESPN and Sports Illustrated--have the Nets taking Gallinari. Anthony Randolph of LSU is favored in three for the #10 spot while DeAndre Jordan of Texas A&M is favored by two mocks for the #10 spot and improbably one at #21. Brook Lopez of Stanford gets two mentions as did Russell Westbrook of UCLA. Lopez and Westbrook have declined to work out for the Nets.

At #21, it's Brandon Rush of Kansas and Alexis Ajinca of France with three mentions each. There's no consensus at #40.

Here are the latest picks...

interesting that despite the report that we will likely take Rush or CDR (a wing) at 21, all of the top 4 mocks have us taking a big after Gallinari. While its quite possible that they just expect us to grab one, or just coincidence (especially considering they are all different) perhaps they heard that we were looking big if we took Dani at 10.
