Denver "Not Shopping" 'Melo, Says Agent

After three days of trade rumors, Carmelo Anthony's agent told Denver media that the Nuggets assured him they are not shopping 'Melo and described the reports as "bad information." "There are no plans to trade Melo," Calvin Andrews said. "Melo will be in a Denver uniform next year. That's the deal." Mark Warkentien, Denver GM, and Kiki Vandeweghe declined comment, as GM's usually do. And the Arizona Republic reports the Suns had "no talks" with the Nets on Boris Diaw or Leandro Barbosa.

the nuggets never came out and said they are shopping melo. what they are doing is listening to offers for their players. i havent heard a report of denver contacting another team to see what they can get for melo. they have just taken at least a call from the nets about melo. i cant see melo being traded because of his age, but come june30 who knows what will happen

Here’s what I think: Kiki figured Nuggets were going to look at everything and he called with the offer. Denver said let’s see what happens with the lottery then said “nice talking with you, kiki, say hi to the wife.”
Meanwhile the Raptors would only say trade talks re Bargnani (and Kapono?)are “speculative”. That is a non-denial denial.

Look this might be a blessing in disguise…because evidently the nuggets would have wanted our pick, Rj, van horn’s contract, and both williamss…i don’t know about you but that is alot to give up for those two players…supposedly we would have to give up both first round picks
Kiki said himself that this is a deep draft…its really deep with pf’s and c’s…which we need
I am still think we should try and put our resources into acquiring elton brand or josh smith…those are the kind of players we need

I think all this info being put out about trades is coming from Nets management in hopes of keeping fans interested since we didnt make the playoffs. If the Nets really make a major move i’d be VERY surprised.

@ TheMann
Ditto. When was the last time this team actually made a major move in the off-season?
