Game 61 - Nets @ Grizzlies - Wednesday, March 5, 8:00

The last time the Nets played the Grizzlies, Pau Gasol and Jason Kidd were in uniform. Not anymore. Gasol's move to LA set off a domino effect that ultimately sent Kidd to Dallas. Memphis has since collapsed, losing nine straight, while New Jersy, despite two straight losses to San Antonio, remain in the playoff picture. Mike Miller will return Wednesday after missing seven games and Jason Collins will be facing his old team for the first time.

Question for Nets fans: Kidd has 1 yr on his contract. Say Dallas goes nowhere this season (likely). Entering next year the Mavs will lose him at the end of yr unless they sign him to an extension or trade hime.
What will Kidd likely do if Dallas won’t sign him to extension or offer is for a lot less money?

What do you think he will ? He will try to payton for his ring and sign on a any team with a decent shot at the title .

Collins? Collins?? Dear Netsdaily. I’m upset with you now for even putting Jason Collins on any web space anywhere. He’s the most disgraceful basketball player I’ve ever seen in my life. Stevie, please take back what you said about being happy that you’re going to see Collins again. It’s bad for your health to be a Collins backer. I’m just looking out for your best interest and your health.

Maybe Jefferson will finally have a solid game after stinking the joint up for the past few.
Maybe Sean will finally come out of Frank’s doghouse
Maybe Vince will finally summons some help besides Marcus, Boone.
Just Maybe.

Kidd’s not our interest. We’d rather have Devin because he has no baggage. He is happy here in Jersey unlike the moody fella’. There’s no way in hell will Kidd make this team any better. I think he is messing with the chemistry there.

Twin’s a good guy he just not a good player anymore . He’s got bad knees and lost all offensive skill but he’s still a great teammate .
Watching Swift play makes me regret this trade . I prefer a cheering Twin on the bench to a bad playing Swift on the court.

Once again Sean talks about Collins. Wow this guy really has a love affair for Twin. LOL
I’ll bet anyone anything that Collins will stop any of our bigs that he goes up against.

He’s messing with the chemistry? Is that why people are playing better, especially Dirk? It hasn’t translated into wins yet, but just wait.

COLLINS, COLLINS, COLLINS, TWINNNN!!
How’s that for ya yankees son
I hope Twin gets some playing time. He was a great part of the nets, sure offense wasn;t great but I liked having him as a part of the team I watched so much.
I’d like to see him go “off” for 12 and 10 tonight.

was that supposed to be a john sterling immitation? … if so, it was almost as bad as collins’ jump shot

Kidd will go to a team where he has a chance to win a title. In other words, there has to be talent and someone who won’t give him competition at point. Also, Kidd will be looking for a city with plenty of broads since he has a history of knocking them up.
For the record, Twin is a bum. Thank God he is not a Net anymore.

@ dallas fan
the billionaire free-spending mavs owner will pay kidd whatever it takes to keep him in dallas … he gave up too much in harris and draft picks not to keep kidd on board
if however, cuban loses all his money making idiotic movies and decides not to pay kidd, then kidd will go to the highest bidder … even if the highest bidder is a wnba team, that’s where kidd will go

ok rj, needs to stop shooting…just stop. soon as he bricks the other team runs down the floor and scores. EVERYTIME. if he doesn’t shoot, he will drive to the basket then inevitably turn it over.

RJ should be rested after the game off he had yesterday..
by Jay on Mar 5, 2008 3:19 PM EST reply actions
harris, VC, RJ, Swat, Boone should start.
It was working when Sean Boone were starting together. Adding a Jumpshooter(nenad) with three shooting guards dont make sense. Having two inside scorers is better in my opinion. Besides, nenad says hes having a tough time getting back to form, I think he should be subbing for now rather than starting. My $.02

Thanks for the replies, just wanted your perspective. Personally I think Kidd will move on. I will drop discussing Kidd at this point (and wish the Dallas media would do the same).
Go Harris! Go Diop! Go Van Horn :) You know, I don’t think I have watched the Nets with this interest since Dr. J!

Marcus is definitely not ready to be the full time PG. At best, he can only play against the bottom 10 starters in the league.
re RJ, yeah that’s two bad games in a row, but he can’t stop playing, he really needs to calm down and stop forcing a play when its not there….unfortunately, its like his teammates have to determine if its there or not for him and don’t pass him the ball if its not, since if it is not, he will either force a bad shot, charge, get stripped, or throw a bad pass

Dallas Fan, your window of opportunity is this year and the next with Kidd, so I don’t see why you would be so worried about him leaving after next season. I wish you guys the best and hope you guys can knock Golden State out of the playoffs this year ;-)

kevin- collins stopping any of our bigs tonight.
thats if he plays. he hasnt played a second with the griz as if yet. only frank was dunb enough to throw away valuable NBA minutes to this fat slob.
i rather have swift anyday iof the week, its not even a matter of discussion. thats what thorn and kiki were thinking, there’s no place for a plyer on the nets who cant jump a cm off the grounf, and cant make a layup to save his life.
swift is a good player, but unfortunetaly for him he’s playing under frank. frank has no idea about bringing the best out of his players and using it to his team’s advantage. frank is unable to individually coach his players and make them better as a player. the proof is in the pudding, how many players do you see on frank’s team making the same mistakes over and over agian. or how many talented allstar youngsters like swill and mwill rot on his bench.
frank should be giving at least 20min per game to swill. the guy averages almost 8 pts and 6 rebs and 2blk in 20min a game and shooting over 50%. forget the stats he impacts the game with his energy and hustle, and he’s the only player on the nets who does that. are you telling me that swift, kristic, hassell are not mking the same mistakes that swill does. rj makes the most mistakes on the team and he’s a seasooned vet making 13mill a year.
sean better get his minutes back. he is the nets future and will be a superstar player no doubt. sean has only had two bad games and frank took the oppurtunity and sat him in his doghouse. thats a crime. he’s not allowed two bad games, where he didnt even play 5 min. all of a sudden frank takes away sean’s minutes and gives them to swift and kristic. what is sean supposed to think. that he played his butt off is always in the top 5 rookie ranking he has earned his minutes yet he cant get on the floor cause frank doersnt want him there.
you can see frank’s face everytime sean makes a mistake, its like he’s about to explode. howcome he doesnt do that with the rest of his players. why is he picking on sean. good coachs when they realize talent like sean they work on it till they make them allstars. good coaches know that players like sean will takle them to the next level. no, not frank, not with his head stuck up his *.
the nets are full of talent, and young talent that need development, for the good of the franchise. as long as frank is coaching the team, they will never get where they want to. they will always underachieve. his coaching methods says so. i have personnaly tries to give him a break, but game after game he shows his stupididty. the NBA is a man’s league, get that kid out of there.

Actually, before tonight, he had played 147 minutes in 11 games with the Grizzlies.

Not worried about him leaving – I did not want him in the first place (I still remember when he gave up on Dallas the first time). See, I did not mention his name. Will stop. Promise.
