Ratner Keeping "Nets"?

There has been speculation, fueled by Brett Yormark, that the team might not change just its location but also its name. On Tuesday, however, the team renewed its "Brooklyn Nets" trademarks, according to a website that monitors such changes. Trademork.com notes the team didn't feel a need to renew the trademarks before so wonders if the filings could mean "the Brooklyn Nets name is a go". Meanwhile, the Record notes this is not the first time the Nets have moved across the river.

who gives a f about brooklyn … if/when the nets move to that rathole, i’ll be rooting for the ‘new jersey hornets’ or whatever other nba team moves to the rock in newark … the devils are raking in the $$$ there and i’m sure that the dozen or so nba teams drowning in red ink are taking notice
