Drejer Retires from Basketball

Stay connected for news and updates

It's official...the Nets' 2003, 2004 and 2005 drafts were total busts. Christian Drejer, the Danish baller who was the Nets' second round pick in 2004, has announced his retirement. The 6'-9" point forward scored 23 points in an exhibition game against the Raptors last fall, then suffered a career-ending ankle injury. The Nets no longer retain rights to any of the players drafted back then: Zoran Planinic and Kyle Korver in 2003, Drejer in 2004, Antoine Wright and Mile Ilic in 2005.
