Former Net Rodney Rogers was injured in an ATV accident last Friday in North Carolina, and according to a report, is paralyzed from the shoulders down. The Durham native has been transferred to a hospital in Atlanta for recovery. He played the '02-03 and '03-04 seasons with the Nets, helping them to the 2003 NBA Finals.

That’s too bad…

All I can do is hope for the best for him. He really did seem like a nice guy when he was with the Nets. Boy, what a downer.

Am i the only one who remembers rodney’s biggest basket as a nj net?

Game 3 of our 1st round playoff series against the bucks in 2003.

We’re in milwaukee, with the series tied at 1-1.

Nets are down 2 points … only 3 seconds left in the game.

Rodney gets fouled and goes to the line for 2 free throws to send the game to overtime.

Rodney hits the first free throw, but misses the second.

K-Mart gets one hand on the rebound and tips the ball back out towards the free throw line.

Rodney catches the ball and shoots it in one motion … SWISH!!! … game over, nets win!!!

The nets lost the next game in milwaukee, but then won their next 10 straight playoff games … 2 straight against the bucks, 4 straight against the celtics and 4 straight against the pistons.

The nets were so hot that some nba analysts predicted they would beat the spurs in the finals.

We came close, but no cigar … losing in 6 to the spurs after the series was tied at 2-2.

Unfortunately, that was one of rodney’s very rare good moments during his 2 years with the nets.

He would’ve been here 3 years, except his agent forgot to notify the nets that rodney was picking up his player option … worth $3 million … for the 2004-2005 season.

Thorn cut him lose, which forced rodney to accept a far less lucrative deal with the hornets.

Rodney was a great guy and a fan favorite, but didn’t quite live up to expectations while in new jersey.

I wish him nothing but the best and that he somehow recovers from this awful tragedy.
