Williams Assigned to D-League

The Nets announced Monday that they have assigned Sean Williams to the Colorado 14ers of the D-League. Williams has played in 16 of the Nets' first 30 games, hasn't played since Dec. 12, and hasn't logged more than seven minutes since Nov. 30. This is just the second time the Nets have used the D-League. Mile Ilic was assigned to Colorado two seasons ago. Williams could be in action Tuesday in Colorado against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

could the nets be making room for nenad or someone else? to send sean to the d-leaugue the same day they have to decide on nenad makes you wonder.

Danny, Williams is still on the 15-man roster, so this move doesn’t create any space for Krstic.

I’m looking forward to seeing how he develops.
Of course, I’m also looking forward to seeing what happens on this board if he struggles there too. No wait, obviously it’ll be a huge conspiracy on Frank’s part to ruin his career.

Its just too bad this move wasn’t made to make room for Nenad, who could outplay Yi with ease when healthy. I understand Ratner is losing a ton of money, but this is still the wrong move

I am glad for Swat. I hope he “finds his game”. Word from the beat reporters is that he is a good kid, and I want him to play, and find his place in the league and in his life.

DOES THIS MEAN WE ARE GONNA GET KRISTIC. NOW WE DONT HAVE SWIFT OR SWAT

Is it possible to also send Lawrence Frank to the D-League with him?

I checked the D League team’s stats. Eddie Gill is playing pretty well, and is averaging 7.4 assists per game. Maybe he
is trying to make himself into more of a PG. Maybe he fills the roster spot, unless ROD has “something cooking”. I sort of wish what’s cooking is CURLY. But it would not be consistent with the big picture plan. But we could be surprised?

Hi people,
There’s this fantastic thing you can do called reading, when trying to speculate what to do now that Sean has been assigned to the D-League.

NETINCOME, do you know where Illic is at now? I can’t seem to find any stats on him this year, Europe or US..
I know we traded him to the Hornets last year for cash but then what?
by Praise Ala on Dec 29, 2008 3:16 PM EST reply actions
and on the subject of SWAT, I just think they sent him there to get his confidence back, minutes back, and then eventually increase his trade value so we can trade him and someone else for Kleiza

@ jim
LOL
Yeah, we should send LF and Rod Thorn to the D-league to learn how to do their jobs.
KEEP CURLY!!!

Can we send some of the ND Posters there, to learn how to post?

But, if he got better you would trade him because………………? >blink<

So the great D’Antoni is coaching the Knicks, who have a worse record than the totally rebuilding Nets. Someone tell me again why Frank should lose his job?

FYI..During summer 2008 offseason, Ilić signed for CB Sevilla on July 28, 2008. I believe this is in the Spanish League.

Ilic has played 16 games for Sevilla. He is averaging 3.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 16 games. His high game is 11.
I blame Frank.

Sean Williams has reportedly signed a 5 year, $1,420 contract with the Antarctic National team early this morning.
However, it has just been reported that the Oklahoma City Thunder have since decided to sign him to a 10 year, $190 million contract. The Nets have 13 hours to match the offer, but I’m pretty sure they’ll let him go.

I’m suprised nobody has said to move Mo Ager to the D-league.
Now as for Sean, this is where he belongs. He has great potential, and is destined to be someone in this league.
If were only doing this to raise up his trade value, then that’s fine. He’s already accepted the fact that he’d be okay with moving, and maybe his future is not with the Nets.
I hope he can improve, and that we will get daily news on how he produces each game!

From far away, Mo Ager looks like a skinny Andre Iguodala.

good move for us and swat. swat was rotting at the end of the bench. we all know the only real way to get better as a player or in any job is by doing it hands on. there is only so much you can learn from practice and swat doesnt seem like a kid who likes to pay attention to small detail and do some reading.
hopefully he improves to at least the point where he can rebound consistently or play good D. we need something out of him for him to either help us as a net or by bringing something worth value back in the trade. gl sean

Sean Williams totally looks like Prince John in Disney’s Robin Hood (1973).
