Yormark Denies Report He's Headed to the Dolphins

Brett Yormark categorically denied he has committed to joining the front office of the Miami Dolphins after this season or that he had even been approached about a job. Yormark seemed stunned when asked about the job by WFAN's Craig Carton. "I'm committed to the Nets, committed to the (Barclays Center)". The Net CEO again said the Nets would break ground early in 2009 and be in Brooklyn by the 2011-12 season.

he has done some great things since he has been here. from day 1 he wanted to market to brooklyn people, but still make jersey feel like they are apart of this franchise. i think hes done a good job appealing to both sides of the river.

you heard why we will NOT move to TheRock. we want to be the top dogs in the arena and when the devils moved we were. he also layed out what weve been told that 2009 we will break ground after it was pushed back at the end of 2008.

i wish i had his work ethic and determination. the guy is just motivated and if we ever do reach brooklyn i think he will really market us to the max which is exciting to thing about.

if we dont go to brooklyn, then i would think he would go to the fins if he gets an offer. especially if we end up movin to the rock his hands will be tied up more. he wants to be free and wheel and deal. i hope he stays, wish we had him at the start of the decade

The Nets are never moving to the Rock. I think you should understand that. David Stern has said New Jersey has had its chance.

Newark and Vanderbeek DESPERATELY need the Nets to come to Newark. The arena is not making money…not when you factor in the carrying costs. That’s why the city and Vanderbeek are in a pissing match over how much Vanderbeek owes the city in payments in lieu of taxes.

The idea that the Nets will “never” go to the Rock is as ludicrous as the idea that the Nets will certainly go to Brooklyn. Currently the intention is for Ratner to build the Brooklyn arena and move the team there. That’s all we can say. If the Brooklyn arena falls through, neither Net Income nor anyone else has any idea what would happen. Ratner could keep the team (whether at the Rock or not) or he could sell the team to someone who will keep the team in Jersey (whether at the Rock or not) or move them somewhere else – but that all is speculation.

Once again Net Income, you are denying a number of facts. The Devils are getting higher attendance at the Prudential Center as with Seton Hall. I find it ironic that you mention the PILOTs under Vanderbeek yet ignore the ones that Ratner has, which is probably greater. If Yormark is going to leave just because the Nets didn’t move to Brooklyn, then good riddance to him. It’s like what Beyonce said in her latest song, “I can have another you in a minute.” Once again, please present a source where Ratner has the money, and don’t just make some claim on that.

In late june of 2002, david stern travelled to trenton to PERSONALLY LOBBY new jersey lawmakers for a new arena in newark for the nets.

He got the arena in newark, but only after the nets had already been sold to ratner and his brooklyn pipedreams.

David Stern clearly and unequivocally wanted the nets to remain permanently in new jersey.

Unfortunately, some on this board continue to lie about stern in order to promote their own twisted agenda.

According to that audio, both Craig Carton and Boomer Esaison are starting to think that the move to Brooklyn is not going to happen. Of course Yormark still thinks it will happen despite the financial problems Ratner has been facing. Even they feel that it’s better for the Nets to move to Newark at this point rather than Brooklyn, though Yormark continued to claim that the move to Brooklyn will happen and then repeats what Ratner and Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz have already said about it on being the best sports venue in Brooklyn. Some just can’t seem to face reality here.

Yomark, although doing a good job as far as marketing goes, is simply forced by the Rat to tell the public that Brooklyn is happening. He should go. I truly feel he’s being forced to speculate about Brooklyn all the time. Plus lets be honest people.. Who wouldn’t take a job in South Beach??? Also the statement that Stern wants the Nets out of Jersey seems false to me due to one huge reason: The guy graduated from Rutgers University, located in New Jersey… He wants the team here. Believe that.
